10 Things to know about Kigali, Rwanda.
1. Rwanda is 1hr ahead of Nigeria.
2. A Rwanda citizen is called a Rwandese.
3. Kigali has security all over the city.
4. Please feel free to walk majestically on the zebra crossing sign.
5. Their currency is called Rwandan franc (Rwf) with the highest denomination being 5000 RWF
6. The President of Rwanda has been in power since 2000. Apparently the few citizens I spoke to wants him to win the election this year.
7. Kigali is a neat city.
8. Kigali has a car-free zone where cars aren’t allowed to pass. The Kigali signage is at their car-free zone where you can take lots of pictures.
9. They enjoy 24/7 electricity!
10. If you must fly a bike, be ready to put on their helmet.

The @ifad_org IFAD Learning and Reflection Forum 2024 served as an extensive platform for learning, showcasing the progress made across various African countries where initiatives to foster employment for AgriYouth have been launched.

The two-day forum featured in-depth discussions on a range of topics, focusing on achievements and innovations across participating countries. Day 1 highlighted successes and innovations in:
1. Enhancing wage employment opportunities for rural youth.
2. Promoting entrepreneurship among rural youth.
3. Targeting and inclusion strategies for rural youth.
4. Advancing quality job creation for rural youth.

Day 2 delved into successes and innovations pertaining to:

1. Partnerships, sustainability, and scaling up of Agribusiness Hubs.
2. Promoting green jobs and digitalization for rural youth.

This knowledge-packed event got countries exchanging ideas, presenting innovative solutions, and contributing to IFAD’s initiatives.

Over 3,500 youth in Nigeria have become beneficiaries of the IFAD-IITA AgriYouth program through the IFAD Agrihub project across 18 states. One representative from the IFAD-IITA Youth beneficiaries in Nigeria had the privilege of attending the inaugural IFAD International Learning and Reflection Forum in Kigali, Rwanda. It was a great honor to be selected as the representative.
