5 years ago I arrived in Korea planning to learn the language for a year and then return home. Last August I graduated with my Master’s degree in the same country where I’ve spent most of my adult life. You really never know where life will take you. Thank you 14 year old Cristina for becoming a Girls Generation fan. It truly took us to so many places

10 years ago I was so bummed that I couldn’t study my Bachelor’s in the States, and now 10 years later I’ve lived abroad and earned a Master’s degree. Was it what I expected? NO! This country made sure to set up every stepping stone and obstacle along the way, but I WON.

To everyone who came to my graduation ceremony, you mean the world to me. You were part of my journey and without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

A special shoutout to my thesis advisor. In a country full of discouraging educators he stood out, believed in me, and set an example. To my friends and family, thank you for always being there for me. And to those who have already left Korea, know that I always keep you in my thoughts.

For now your girl is officially one degree hotter. 🎓🔥 and she wore hello kitty and girls generation on that special day.

I’ve been to Jeongseon three times now, and it’s amazing how every visit feels completely different ✨ This one was really special with the 50th Jeongseon Arirang Festival, celebrating tradition and culture for half a century! 🎶

Before immersing ourselves in the festival, we explored the enchanting Romyzian Garden. The sky and mountain views were just unreal 🤩 Then, we stopped by the Jeongseon Traditional Market, where the local energy was so lively and welcoming 🇰🇷

I had so much fun on this one-day trip organized by @koreatravelmate 🌸 Definitely check them out if you want to enjoy authentic adventures like this at an affordable cost 🥰

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the 2nd K-UNESCO Adventures trip in 2025. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of Busan's rich history and global significance as well as meeting new friends from around the world. Note to myself:
Hey, Henry, selamat atas perjuangan mu sampai dititik ini.
Keinget 8 tahun lalu kamu pernah ngimpi mau sekolah di SNU, sampai akhirnya bisa wisuda di tanggal ini.
Terima kasih mau bertahan, terima kasih mau berusaha, terima kasih mau banting tulang demi apa yang kami impikan.

Dibalik pencapaian ini, ada mata yang dipaksa sampai lelah, ada keringet yg diperas sampe kering, ada badan sampe jompo buat digerakin haha plus, drama yg ga bisa dilupain. Tapi, semua itu worth it. Paid off.

Teruntuk ayah, yg sudah di Surga, semoga ikut bangga, putra bungsunya udah berhasil wujud-in mimpi bersama ini.

Kuliah di SNU mengajarkan banyak hal. Dari leadership, pertemanan, kesabaran, ketekunan, dan daya juang buat bertahan.

Tentunya, pas awal, banyak ngeluh, tugasnya sebanyak itu, kuliah nya se-demanding itu, ujiannya bikin se-nangis itu, dramanya, chaosnya, happy-nya, ada gila-gilanya emang kadang kuliah di SNU ini. Tapi semuanya ada nilai positifnya, banyak pelajarannya dan banyak hal yg ga terlupakan. Pingin nangis lg kan….hehe

Bersyukur, alhamdulillah. Bersyukur bahwa bonding temen2 seluruh se-angkatan itu kuat banget, bersyukur bahwa profesor dan advisor di SNU itu sangat suportif dan bersyukur banyak hal lain yg ga bisa disebut satu-satu.

Menerima penghargaan of excellence, jadi Presiden di GMPA, sampai jadi Lurah SNU nesia dulu, kayaknya ga akan bisa tanpa bantuan Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa, bantuan temen-temen terdekat, temen-temen angkatan yg suportif jg. Semua ini cuma titipan. Karena tujuan awalku cuma mau doing good things aja, kontribusi positif aja selagi bisa membantu.. Bahkan terima kasih jg ke istri yg selalu support jg dan keluarga 🫶🏻❤️

Bersiap petualangan baru akan dimulai setelah ini. Semoga semua ilmu baik dr SNU bisa banyak berguna kedepannya nanti..

Some of you know the story of how he became my Ecuadorean Guardian Angel as the global pandemic escalated so quickly. He is an absolute gem of a human and I'm excited you will all get to "meet" him from his apartment in Quito where he is quarantined.
