I successfully completed this cabachon, cut from a beautiful Turkish agate from @srlgemstone . This one gave me a little bit of trouble. Not because of saw marks, but from stone of the host rock and softer quartz spots on the right side. I'm okay with that though, because I know that's nature and not created from saw marks! 😉🤩✨️✨️

This post is for @noicewocks and anyone else who is obsessed with mineral fluorescence! I discovered the fluorescence in this one by accident. I was checking a Hanksite mineral for fluorescence and this happened to be sitting on the counter next to it and it lit up like crazy when the UV passed by it. I was like "what thuhhh?" 💚🤩💚 Check out slide No. 2!! It's UV reaction under Shortwave UV is so bright it almost drowns out all the other details!! Crazy-mazing!! 🤯

Happy Saturday y'all!! Official (traditional) cabachon No. 3 completed!! I'm sure most lapidary artists can relate when I say "The beauty of this agate was all the inspiration I needed." Thanks to Nilufer @srlgemstone for gifting me a piece of this agate months ago.🤩❤️‍🔥💯 I especially love the little yellow and blue flower nestled in this piece and the little druzy vugs. 🌼💙✨️Turkish agate is "next level amazing"!! Some pieces just speak to you and the whole experience becomes organic and meditative. Those that have been following my lapidary journey, know that I've been using my DIY Lapidary tools for over a year now and that I recently started taking a lapidary class. Take note: This cab was done on my home-made equipment. One of the things I've learned over the past few weeks is that working on a "flat plate" (pseudo flatlap) is natural for me. Understanding and feeling the angles on a Cab Machine has been a real struggle. I just don't feel like I can maneuver the rock properly. I end up with flat spots and scratches and it takes me forever to complete a cab. I'm still gonna keep playing around on it, but I think there's something to be said about "preferences". Time will tell... but regardless of what I choose to use to make my cabs, I'm still grateful for all the gained knowledge and access to such amazing equipment!! 🙏😊

The temptation of a Black Friday sale!! Since @srlgemstone posted this, I just had to have it!! The multii-waterline pockets are AMAZING!! 💙🤩💙 can't wait to polish it up and cut that smaller agate nodule! Cutting and polishing has been put on hold until after Christmas, due to the transition to my new rock workshop! 😁

So @srlgemstone encouraged me to do something more with the Stick Agate!! 😁 I'm absolutely loving how it's coming along. I wanted to preserve as much of the stick detail as possible, so I just started freeform shaping it and it's turning out beautiful! This is going to be SPECTACULAR when it's polished! 🤩💯💯
