In today's article @itsmariavasilyeva and @sryaaditya_ share how they turned her love of music into layouts, motion and sound. Like many designers, Maria found her own portfolio the hardest thing to design. She found her way in through music, the playlists she makes for every project, and started treating each project as a note in a larger melody. New visual identity for @freeform.fest 2026 Building on the first-year identity by @lad_boo the brief was to develop a visual direction that could grow with the festival and reflect its spirit of freedom and exploration. ‘Take Flight’ became the guiding idea, drawing on birdlife, migration and some good old-fashioned twitching. Flocking behaviour, tracking and lens distortion shaped the hero visuals and motion system, developed from found footage. Local twitcher and Flickr enthusiast ‘Birds as Poetry’ gave us access to his extensive archive of Victorian bird photography. His subjects became characters in their own right and a central motif throughout the campaign. A robust sans and serif pairing from @schicktoikka gives the system structure, while we went freehand for the Freeform logo, of course. 🦅 Hero visuals and motion @mchlaskew 🦜 Web development @sryaaditya_ 🦉 Many thanks to the @bizarro.life and @crownruler crew!!

My new portfolio is finally live and playing. 🎶 This is a deeply personal project, hugely inspired by my love and appreciation for music and sound. Each image is a note, each project is a part of the melody, and together they form the composition. Everything is intentional - from the annotations, inspired by the marks musicians make on their scores, to the interactions and animations that explore how sound travels, how notes connect, and how a melody comes together. Developed by incredible @sryaaditya_ , this project pushed us to experiment, play, and explore territories we hadn’t been to before. After months of making, testing, tweaking, and playing around, it’s finally ready to be heard. Sound on! 🎧 mariavasilyeva.com

Some interactions feel effortless, but they're often made up of several small systems working together. In today's tutorial, @sryaaditya_ breaks down an infinite scrolling gallery built with @gsap_greensock, from the looping scroll to the parallax, reveal animations, and FLIP transitions.
