Fresh back from @ss4x4performance. The little beast of a car just got a 2" OME lift, Davanti Terratoura all-terrains, side bars, and full underbody protection.

With a big thanks to my brother for planting the Jimny seed, and to my parents for the genetic predisposition to hyper-fixating on hobbies 🤷‍♀️ . Almost time for our road trip holiday.

𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 | One of the quirks of owning a Defender is that you slowly become a mechanic yourself. Duct tape, cable ties, bush fixes on the roadside - they all become part of the toolkit. And honestly, that’s part of the fun.

But every so often, there comes a moment when Sully (our Defender) needs more than our tinkering. That’s when the real magic happens: finding people whose hands and minds seem to understand these machines inside out.

In Luanda, we had the privilege of meeting Hernani at HFV Garage - a specialist whose knowledge and care for Land Rovers runs deep. Watching Sully being looked after by someone who shares the same love and respect for these vehicles was both reassuring and inspiring.

This post is a tribute to Land Rover specialists everywhere, but especially across Africa. To those who keep these old legends running, who understand their quirks, and who make sure the journey can go on. Here’s to the shared love of Defenders, wherever the road takes them 🙃
