“Shanah Tovah!” I struggled all day to find anything useful and additive to say or lip sync about September 11. Every video of a speech or musical performance I watched or made me cry tears of sadness.

But one video unexpectedly made me smile: Mayor Mamdani’s video asking young Jewish children how they celebrate Rosh Hashanah. I smiled because those children reminded me of a young Antonio going to Vacation Bible School where I learned that “Father Abraham had many sons,” and “that I was one of them.”

I am not a theologian, but I eventually understood that song to mean that the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and many others) share certain traditions. But at bottom, the real lesson for me was that we are all God’s children, even if we as individuals chart our own path. It is up to each of us to find our people, even if our people don’t look like us, act like us, pray like us (if they pray at all), or sing like us, and even if they may be folks that some of us were taught to believe “ain’t no good.”

Ultimately, the song I chose to lipsync tonight is “Joshua Fit The Battle of Jericho.” The song will always remind me that Rahab, a Gentile prostitute, was a heroine because she did what she knew was right. (Y’all will have to do the deeper study on your own). Goodnight and God Bless. #love #explorepage✨ #lipsync #911 #fatherabraham

“And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?: And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.” Matthew 21:10-11. So, anyway, here’s a Palm Sunday video to kickoff Holy Week. Being neither an expert in geopolitics or religion, as usual, I’ve simply stuck to lip syncing. #palmsunday #mahaliajackson #lipsync #holyweek #warwhatisitgoodfor

My dear friend @rock2theb just had a post of 2025 in twelve snapshots which I thought was an excellent idea. I am stealing it, with attribution of course, but I took the liberty of picking twenty, the maximum allowed on a post. It was still nearly impossible, so in general, none of my loved ones should draw any adverse inferences. All my angels who helped me navigate to normal Antonio already know who they are.

When I was a younger person, I would literally be irritated at the number of weddings and birthday parties I “had” to attend each year. Eventually however, I realized that no one was obligated to invite me to such events, which are never free, especially in this economy. My perspective shifted: I ought to be glad that I made enough of a difference to others that they wanted to use one of a limited number of invites for me on their special day. So, while there are exceptions to every rule, if I’m invited, I will usually attend. I love celebrating milestones with people who love themselves and also apparently love me. We got the stuff that you want and the things that you need. #blessed #highlyfavored #wonthedoit #lookatgod #queenofthenight #whitney #50thbirthdayparty #70thbirthday #touchgrass #friends #chosenfamily #lipsync #moisturize #drinkwater #notoxicpeople

“How can you sing of amazing grace, how can you sing prayerfully of heaven and earth and all God’s wonders without using your hands? My hands, my feet, I throw my whole body to say all that is within me. The mind and the voice by themselves are not sufficient.”: Chile, when I say we had a time last night, I meant it, meant it. Thanks to every single person who made “I Am House” happen last night. Between summer’s end, getting my Rapture care packages together, not feeling well, and trying to phonetically spell acetaminophen to give DJT an assist, I was unable to call and wish my great aunt a happy birthday. Since I am saving all my money for my trip to the New Jerusalem, lip syncs are all y’all getting as birthday presents. She asked for blues or gospel, so I gave both. Let me know what y’all think. Happy Birthday, Aunt Neet. It’s a long one, but, it beats doom scrolling, I think? #blessed #highlyfavored #lookatgod #wonthedoit #lipsync #lipsyncassassin #love #family #greataunt #greatauntie #happybirthday #arethafranklin #blues #gospel #filmorewest #tariffs #economy #rapture #newjerusalem #packingup #hookedonphonics

I’ve written more on social media in recent weeks, not because I’m a contrarian or trying to claim some sort of moral high ground, but because I am convinced we must find a better way.

Putting to one side the AI bots, the humans who use AI to express their feelings, and the fact that some of y’all refer to your fellow man as vermin or worse, we are all human beings. That being so, we all are susceptible to all manner of cognitive bias, including but not limited to confirmation bias, hindsight bias, recency bias, and many more.

So, in a time of extreme polarization and toxicity, I think we’d all do well to take a breath before becoming furious at the shiny object of the hour.

Because I believe we are all God’s children, I have never and never will assume that any human being is not entitled to dignity or respect, full stop. Hatred not only demeans the target of the hatred, it also degrades the humanity of the hater. I still believe that we can all find a way to co-exist, and I will never give up that hope.

For that reason, when so moved, I’ll do my best to explain my views in a courteous manner. For now, I want to make clear that none of my recent videos have been live. Even I have taken the time to think and reflect before posting. That said, I do still gotta laugh, keep myself entertained, and learn new stuff, so here’s a random mid-week lip sync. The song is called House of Joy and I may not actually know all the words. #blessed #highlyfavored #lookatgod #wonthedoit #friends #joy #dignity #respect #retro #juniorvasquez #vickisuerobinson

“For the record, I don’t own anything by Ralph Lauren…”: I made that throwaway comment in a post on Facebook last month in the context of the Oak Bluffs collection “controversy.” I was surprised to receive a gift yesterday of, among other things, a Ralph Lauren t-shirt. My godmother, @myrtismcbride saw the post and sent it to me. She said that my posts sometimes lift her spirits, and so I told her I would surprise her with a lip sync dedicated to her. Love you Mama Myrt. I hope you like it. #lipsync #godmother #gospel #blessed #highlyfavored #wonthedoit #love #polo #ralphlauren #lookatgod #wonthedoit
