NORTH CENTRAL PRESEASON RANKINGS 🏀

2A looks like the tightest race. I have Nechako Valley at No. 1, led by Tyce Mueller and Zeke Ferguson. They’re a historic program that usually finds a way to win the zone. I’ve heard Kelly Road has a solid group too, so they could challenge. I don’t know enough about the other teams yet to say too much.

In 3A, Duchess Park is the clear favourite for me. They had a really strong junior team last year, and with what looks like a thinner senior class across Prince George, that group gets the nod. Grade 11 Sawyer Roberts is a player to watch. College Heights looks like their main challenger. They didn’t have the provincials they wanted last year, but they’ll be hungry to get back.

For 4A, I have North Peace ahead of PGSS. PGSS lost several players and graduated a strong senior class, including standout guard Kabir Bhathal. North Peace had a decent junior group last year, which gives them the early edge for me.

These are just my personal early rankings. Still plenty to learn about these teams once the season gets going.

Who’s being slept on? 👀

YALE JUNIOR DUO WENT OFF AT FALL FRENZY 🏆🔥

Owen Manning & Armaan Hayer helped SSE capture the Fall Frenzy Championship, with Armaan taking home MVP honors. 🏆

Owen, a 6’2–6’3 guard/forward, brings size and strength on the perimeter. He attacks downhill, finishes strong, can knock down shots, and handles the ball well for his size. In the championship game, Owen stepped up big in the first half, going on a huge run that completely shifted the momentum.

Armaan was a problem all weekend. An extremely crafty guard who gets to his spots, finishes at a high level and shoots it efficiently. He made a major impact from Day 1 through the championship, earning Fall Frenzy MVP. ⭐️

After winning multiple banners together as Grade 9s last season, the Yale Secondary duo is now stepping into their Grade 10 year with sights on adding more banners.

Two names to watch in Abbotsford this season. 👀💜

UNSIGNED. AND THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE.

5’11 guard Cruz San Antonio out of Surrey, BC has spent this summer proving he belongs at the next level.

Cruz balled out for SSE and consistently outperformed guards who are already committed to play college basketball. Against a top team in BC, he recorded 9 steals while going up against a backcourt featuring two U SPORTS commits.

Elite shooter. Best passer on the floor. Ridiculous instincts defensively. Loose balls, deflections, steals, Cruz just finds ways to impact winning.

⏳ UNSIGNED

Around 20 PPG, 5+ AST, 5+ STL for us while knocking down 3s at a high level.

The film speaks for itself. He’s played against committed players, outplayed committed players, and shown he can compete with anyone put in front of him.

Cruz deserves a home next season. Coaches, don’t let this one slip.

Someone needs to give this kid an opportunity. 💜

Kohen Logan can shoot it 🎯

The 6’1” C/O 2028 guard out of Prince Rupert is one of the top scorers in his class. At the Jr. Boys Provincials, Logan knocked down 23 threes in just 5 games — tied for 2nd most all-time.

Northern BC has a bucket. 👀🏀
