One year with the Outsiders complete!! I have so many feelings and so much love for everyone who has been apart of this tour. This year has truly been a highlight for me. To my friends who are departing the tour tonight, you all mean so so so much to me and I can’t believe I got to grow and create with you all every day 🖤🖤 Here’s to more memories and capturing every beautiful angle 😘✨

Kimberly Akimbo. 3+ years with this show…where do I even begin?

615 performances on tour.
40 performances on Broadway.

I still remember the day Shannon Ford asked if I wanted to sub for him on this show on Broadway. Truthfully, I didn’t think I was ready to hop back into the pilot’s seat again (iykyk), but Shannon saw something in me that I couldn’t see in myself yet. (Imposter syndrome goes crazy 😵‍💫)

A year and some change of subbing later, I was offered the tour and the chance to share this beautiful story all across the country.

These last 20 months have meant so much to me. I experienced incredible highs and difficult lows, visited places I never imagined I’d see with my own eyes, and performed in venues that 9 year old Frank (who had just picked up drumsticks for the first time) could only dream of playing one day.

This tour challenged me in ways I never expected, both personally and professionally. There were moments that pushed me FAR outside my comfort zone, but I’m incredibly proud of everything I’ve overcome along the way. I’m leaving this tour stronger, more confident, and with a much deeper understanding of myself as both a person and a musician.

I truly feel more prepared for whatever the next “great adventure” may be.

Thank you @akimbomusical for the life lessons, the growth, and the memories that I’ll carry with me forever.
