Charcoal and Pan pastel on paper.

First time I’ve put any effort in a landscape drawing. In @richardschmid book he has a list of general rules and one of them is ‘don’t paint what you don’t want to’, when I read that a couple of years ago I took it all the way to heart and haven’t drawn anything but heads and hands since but I think maybe I want to draw other things too now.

Born in France to Vietnamese parents, artist @sssimsim keeps his identity to himself online, where he is becoming well-known for his cryptic charcoal sketches.

At the link in bio, the mysterious artist explains to writer @alixrosecowie how he sees drawing his loved ones as his love language, and as the only way to show that he truly sees them as they are.
