THANK YOU to everyone who shared their sound creations with iASpace!!! The sound works that built the walls of this vessel were by artists, sound practitioners, anthropologists, students, community or faculty. They were WIP through the open submission, durational full records, oral histories, live interactive score, compositions & experiments. Different practices existing together. iASpace felt like a library~open, free to the public but with sound instead of books. The whole of this iteration of Interaural Space/iASpace is a beautiful lot to digest, and as an artist (not solely a curator or administrator of the project), a large part of this project is what remains, what stays. I’m grateful for what this space created for everyone, and I’m unloading and writing about the experience, which I hope to share soon. Diagrammatic visual trace included ;) Tagging the artists below (can only tag 20 ppl in the actual image) here it goes: @aaron.edgcomb @ab.ss.s @nimf_ @abigail__toll @akionda_official @alinamaldonado_ @almalaprida @lastlizard808 @holyhum @andrea.c.pensado #annealockwood @ashkan_behzadi #badgeek @fdbckfdfwd @sinusoidaltendencies @baal_mortimer @btvida @bethanybeach18 #busukyangbernanah #beatrizferreyra @bnbnntt @bentley_decontrol @blldtz @iv_act #catherinechristerhennix @chantalmichelle @barbelbaber Chisake @reallynathan @superpanghq @christineabdelnour @baby_vulture DaphneX ErickCalilan Eliane Radigue @thecoloroflight @noticerecordings @gracielajcain @viagracia Habib @misterstella @ingar_zach @heirloomgardensproject @kiku.hibino @jajajaneeneeneeradio @vvvabeirut @snyderphonics @jcantuledesma @jessikakhazrik @joannamattrey @j0nsant0s judgitzu @kinlawww @laurie.spiegel @leng_seong @lauren_teas_well @lafawndah_ @ortwoman @lawrenceabuhamdan @listentoleochang @lilianechlela @lolabeanconstantino @lucyrailton @mayssa @___mappa @marewrew @ma3azef @mazenkerbaj MilfordGraves @mindosolis @miracalix_ @nat_farah @sf.negar_ NicaSon @adult_nour @otomoyoshihide @patrickshiroishi @_perila @rahulmelted @ravenchcn @wingrobbie RobertFesler @sam_____wenc @saiyazone @sarahhennies @senyawa_musik Sharif Sehnaoui @sh3mona Sombat Simla @stephenomalley74 @sugaiken_

The kids (ages 9-15) were so comfortable & locked in🎶 & somehow she turned her synth workshop into an atonal improv band by the end🤗✨ they played straight for over an hour together!! Today 2pm! Very happy to share Sydney’s intro to synthesis youth workshop at iASpace! I first invited Sydney to share their workshop with the kids at the Jacob Riis Settlement Center, in Queens NY @cs111q_jacobriis (HI MS. V !!!!🌸) as part of my Rema Hortman Community Artist Grant @remahortmannfund & residency with @widerainboworg in 2025. Full info below & in bio🌱 Artist and musician Sydney Spann leads a hands-on session exploring the synthesizer as a tool for listening, experimentation, and play. Young participants will patch, shape, and manipulate sounds, building small sonic worlds together and discovering how simple gestures can become rhythm, texture, and music. The workshop invites us to listen closely to the instrument, to the room, and to one another.

So so happy to have you here this week! Tuesday 9/29 5pm Leo Chang new works w voice @listentoleochang Thursday 10/01 6pm Somatic Resonance with Nanse @nansekawashima & Bryce @iv_act Nanse & Bryce have been developing their special Reiki +Sound project ~ bringing it to places in NYC @reforesters.io & similar. I’m so excited to welcome them here & share this with the Princeton Community. Pls join. Link in ✨🌱 From the artists: Somatic Resonance is a collaborative project combining group reiki facilitated by Nanse Kawashima with music by Bryce Hackford. All materials have their resonant frequencies. Bryce Hackford intuitively tunes to the resonant frequencies of human body in meditated performance and observation. These tones generally center lower thresholds of human hearing and can be psychoactive. A viscous music, not unlike cuddling up to a giant cat; you are the glass of water on the dashboard. As a Reiki practitioner, Nanse Kawashima works with universal life force energy while engaging with clients, employing a gentle, light touch of the hands on various energy centers throughout the body. This therapeutic practice is considered beneficial for various imbalances and discomforts in body, mind and spirit. Kawashima and Hackford view their respective practices as complementary, synergistically blending sound and energy vibrations. When the two resonances merge, they foster a unique sensorial experience, allowing people to drift into relaxation or deepen their bodily awareness. By suggested donation*‍ ‍& Please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, etc for your comfort while lying on the floor for the duration of this event. Saturday 10/3 2-4pm Sydney @ssspann Youth Synth workshop! Sydney first brought this to the Jacob Riis Settlement Center in Queens, NY as part of my Rema Hortma

NOTE: the performance will now be held indoors Sydney Spann performs a version of Big Music Little Earth, a collection of songs made with voice, great highland bagpipes, baby monitors, and live electronics. They are joined by piper Scott McCawley, a long-time student and teacher of piobaireachd who performed with fluxus composer Yoshi Wada in 2016. Sunday, July 19 Music at 3pm Experimental Sound Studio 5925 N. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago FREE, walk-ins welcome, reservations appreciated (link in bio) Sydney Spann, originally from Baltimore, MD, is a musician based in New York. They work with synthesis, household electronics, amateur acoustic instrumentation and voice to make studio compositions and live performances. Lately their work sublimates the latent aggressions of feminized labor into anxious and beautiful music. They are one half of Iris Our with Kiera Mulhern and they collaborate with Theodore Cale Schafer, Madeline Stepien, and Michelle Luong. Previous releases include full length albums for Recital and Reading Group. The OPTION series is curated by Andrew Clinkman, Lily Finnegan, and Dorothy Carlos. @ssspann
