What an incredible weekend at the 2026 Special Olympics Florida South Region Fall Classic! 🏅❤️

Our athletes brought their energy, determination, and sportsmanship to Flag Football, Volleyball, Cornhole, Pickleball, Powerlifting, and Softball! 🏈🏐💪

A huge thank you to the St. Thomas University Women’s Lacrosse team for bringing their entire team out to volunteer and support our athletes. You all did an incredible job, and we appreciate you being part of such a special weekend! 👏

A big thank you to Chick-fil-A for providing lunch and supporting our athletes and volunteers, and to all our volunteers, partners, and supporters who helped make this event a success.

Together, we’re creating opportunities for our athletes to shine! ❤️💛

Here’s a look at one of our favorite drills - 3v3 Split 8

In this version of the drill we’re starting with a double team on ball. Attacker picks up a ground ball moving away from cage and two defenders are pressuring hard right away.

Defensive focus: make sure one player has body and the other has stick. You’re talking, and the second that ball moves? One of you is sprinting to recover. Third defender don’t commit too early. Split two and then decide who is the larger threat.

Offensive focus: handle the pressure. Keep those feet moving. If you don’t score quickly out of the double it’s a great opportunity to work on a flip or pick and roll.

Play it all the way out until there’s a shot or a caused turnover, then immediately flip to the other side.

We love to run this with high school and college teams alike. Try it out and let me know what you think!

It’s been my dream since I was 12 to play lacrosse in college. I made my dreams turn into reality. With year 4 being over and one more year left to go, I am feeling so blessed for all the opportunities I was given.

Thank you lacrosse, for everything. Younger me would be so proud

When I decided to reach out to coach Ceinwen exactly one year ago, I had never picked up a lacrosse stick before. My motto was “I’ve never tried it, so I think I can do it”. With the help of an amazing team and coaching staff, I immediately fell in love with the sport. I have learned a lot this past year, faced challenges, but most importantly, found confidence in myself and a family I’ll always be grateful for.
Thank you @stu_wlax
