If you had told me when my daughter graduated fifth grade, eighth grade, or even high school that she would be gone just three years after graduating HS, I probably would have cursed you out in a way you would never forget.

Never—not in my worst nightmare—could I have imagined losing my daughter at only 21 years old.

Since losing Jayla, I’ve struggled deeply with my mental health. I’ve questioned life. I’ve second-guessed whether I wanted to keep living. I’ve attempted suicide.

But through every dark moment, the only peace I’ve been able to find is in living for her—keeping my promise to my princess and using her story to help prevent another family from experiencing this tragedy.

That is why I founded Jayla’s Voice; Echoes of Addiction, Inc.

We use our pain for other people’s prevention.

Apparently, I will find time for Mahjong anywhere. 😂🀄️

After a 9-year-old’s birthday party. Midweek. Past midnight. On a bachelorette weekend in New Orleans. Poolside with a crisp glass of rosé. On a rooftop with new friends. Everywhere and anywhere.

I know somebody is looking at these pictures thinking, “Girl, when do you have TIME to play this much Mahjong?!” 😂

Here’s the thing: I don’t have the time. I make the time.

Somewhere between work and kids and errands and emails and all the other things that will gladly take every available minute if we let them, I decided that having fun gets to make the calendar too.

That’s it. That’s the big secret. The hack you’ve all been waiting for. 😉

Mahjong just happens to be my thing. It makes me sit down, put my phone away, laugh too loud, catch up with old friends, make new ones and completely lose track of time.

And maybe your thing isn’t Mahjong. But girl, whatever that thing is that you keep saying you don’t have time for?

Put it on the calendar.

You’ve got time for some joy too.

Hey mama, school is back in session and you don’t have to pretend you’re heartbroken to prove you’re a good mom. 👀

Turns out, loving your kids and loving a little quiet can exist at the same time.

You spent the summer making memories, packing snacks, planning adventures, and saying “yes” over and over again.

Now it’s okay to pour a little back into yourself.

Maybe that’s a spa day. Maybe it’s a nap. Maybe it’s coffee with a friend.

For me? It looked like spending a Monday morning at an Off-Duty Mamas party powered by @thedropoffpartyatlanta + @ascendsocietyco with a couple hundred women who showed up to celebrate each other and this new season.

I hope we never stop making room for this.👏🏾

Celebrating a new season doesn’t take away from how much you loved the last one. Love your babies. Celebrate yourself, too. One doesn’t cancel out the other. ❤️

The new member moms of the Buckhead Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated were inducted on a warm May evening in Atlanta, just as golden hour settled in.

It was a fitting moment for a uniquely special group of women dedicated to bettering the lives of all children and serving those in need.

The induction itself is, of course, a sacred and unplugged event. But afterward, the celebration continued with smiles, hugs, music, good times and, of course, pictures.

Congratulations again to the newly inducted member moms.

Happy National Best Friend Day. I'm so grateful that God has blessed me with a group of best friends... friendships that are 30+ years, to business besties, to my bestie baddies, to my college besties, to my mentor bestie, and more.

I'm surrounded by people who have become family, help each other shine, love each other to the core with no ill feelings, get each other together when we need it, and spread love...thank you. Everyone of my best friends are special to me.We can laugh until we cry, but we are also going to pray with and for each other. Friendship should be a safe place where love and growth are in the forefront.... I'm blessed to have that. We make each other better and clap the absolute loudest for each other.

My 2 angel besties, my big sister Adria & Chauncy, I miss yall. I need you both, but Im so thankful for yall. Please have fun in heaven and dont take too many selfies lol.
