Almost one month later, #NeoCon2026 is still giving us plenty to think about 💭

Commercial interiors felt noticeably warmer, softer, and more human this year. Fluted accents, rich plum shades, cocooned seating, and curved, elongated silhouettes signaled a continued shift toward spaces designed for comfort and connection, while the debut of Illuminate at NeoCon underscored lighting’s growing influence in shaping the built environment. Add in immersive showroom activations and thought-provoking discussions on AI, wellness, and neuroinclusive design, and one thing became clear: the future of commercial design is increasingly centered on the human experience.

What trends defined #NeoCon2026? We spotted a clear shift toward comfort, color, and character.

From cocooning seating and elongated, lounge-worthy silhouettes to playful textures and tactile materials, this year’s showrooms embraced design that invites interaction. Rich burgundy and purple tones emerged alongside powder blue, aqua, cyan, and burnt orange, while color blocking, plaid patterns, colorful tubular accents, and fluted details brought energy and dimension to spaces.
