The audition room isn’t gone. It just looks different. 🎬

While some actors are calling for the return of in-person auditions, casting director @gpierre722 reminds us that there’s still value in getting in the “room”, even if it’s virtual!

A self-tape gets you seen, but a virtual audition gives you a chance to be heard, ask questions, receive direction and connect with the casting director in real time.

THE PRIZE — COMING FALL 2026! 🎬

When creators come together, opportunities become reality! @darrickwatkinsjr, the creator of @stagepassatl, and @louisjonesstudios partnered to bring a new six-episode, short-form television series, THE PRIZE, to life!

Through Stage Pass, Darrick has created a subscription-based platform where aspiring actors pay a monthly membership and are guaranteed acting opportunities. At Louis Jones Studios, we provide education and hands-on training in screenwriting, directing, and producing. Together, we created something powerful: an opportunity for actors, writers, producers, and directors to collaborate, develop their skills, and bring a real television production to life.

THE PRIZE follows a woman searching for love as she navigates dates with several archetypes of Black men, only to discover that true love may be waiting in the one place she never thought to look.

This project represents something much bigger than entertainment. It’s about creating our own opportunities, opening doors for emerging talent, and trusting the showrunners who are actually making things happen. Even in an industry that doesn’t always make room for us, we continue to build, create, and tell our own stories.

I’m incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to this production. We didn’t wait for permission. WE CREATED THE OPPORTUNITY!

Very soon, the world will get to experience THE PRIZE! Stay tuned! 🎥

BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME.🎬✨

@bruce_blackshear wanted a small space to tape auditions. He told 6 or 7 people. Twenty showed up asking when class started. 👀

Sometimes the vision grows because your community sees something in you before you see it yourself. And just like that @b.leaveitstudio was born. 🖤

DON’T LOSE YOURSELF TRYING TO GET THE YES.🎯

“There ought to be a line that a dollar won’t let you cross.” - Angela Davis

@angeladavisactress came with a WORD!
The desire to be seen can have actors compromising their standards, integrity and self-respect for an opportunity. Know your boundaries and be willing to communicate them.
Because NO is a complete sentence. 👏🏽
Save this for the moment you need that reminder.

YOU WANT THE ROLE..DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE SAYING YES TO? 👀

Have you ever wanted an opportunity so badly that you forgot to ask if it was right for you?

@bruce_blackshear reminds us that being part of a production takes more than knowing your lines. Know what you want, understand what you’ll accept and respect the work everyone brings to telling the story.

Are you sharing your relationship… or giving keeping it private? 🔐

Not everything needs to become content.
@walnettemarie opens up about protecting her marriage by being intentional about what she shares. Because the more you expose, the more you invite people and once that access is given, you cannot always take it back. ❤️

You just KNEW you BOOKED it. They never called. 🫠

Rejection in this industry does not always arrive as a “no.” Sometimes it is silence.
@donnycarri and @walnettemarie join the conversation as we get honest about the roles we really wanted, from staying busy to crying in the shower and occasionally wondering, “They cast WHO?” 😂

Walnette’s rule? Give yourself 24 hours to feel it, then let it go. Because what is truly meant for you will not miss you!
