OFF-ROAD BROTHERHOOD. NEW MOTIVATION. 🏔️⛰️⛰️ TWO TERRAINS SAME BROTHERHOOD! That’s @bmrturf

The @blackmenrundenver pulled up to the 10th Annual @sufferbetter Trail Races at @stauntonstatepark and the mountains gave us a weekend to remember. (6) of us ran the 25K and (1) ran the uphill high altitude 5K! Probably the hardest 5k course anyone could sign up for!

For some Brothers, it was their first trail run. S/O: Shamarke Bande & @_georgedraws on crushin there 1st Trail Run Ever! Or they can do y’all can too! Let’s GOOO!

New terrain, new challenges, and a whole new motivation to get outdoors. That’s what BMR-Denver is all about: getting brothers on the trails and opening new horizons together off the pavement onto the mountain trails.

Extreme Huge Shoutout to @pwdowningco @sufferbetter and the SB Squadron for putting on a great trail race experience! Peter is a Beloved Member of the @blackmenrundenver Chapter. Thank you Peter for always encouraging more BMR guys to come out and join this phenomenal race and encouraging more @blackmenrun members to come join future events. 💡💡🫵🏾

Another one for the Black Men Run Turf Initiative.
As we say in @blackmenrun We got a few more. 🫡 🖤

Westline Winder 50k and the Sawatch ascent 50k
Day one and day two
First day was tougher than expected but still had some push ups and a smile, day two really tested me.
Day one started out great pushing where I could and slowly advancing, made it to the halfway aid station and barely stopped and then smoked a joint to celebrate that brutal last climb before the aid station, and thats where the cramps began had to eat almost all my salt tabs and a bunch of water to not completely sieze. Several af the people I had passed previously passed me back while I was struggling. I put my headphones in and then got to work slowly and then a bit faster once the sodium hit. I was able to manage my salt the rest of the race and got it done.
Day two was rough, not much sleep or recovery to start with and then a much more physically demanding course. All my homies took off quicker than me and it took a while to get into some sort of groove. We had a 2 hour cutoff at the first aid station and once I hit that aid station the I changed refueled and took back off to chase down a couple homies. It was difficult and I turned to the music a little earlier. There were several time both days that certain songs came on and I started bawling, like ugly crying, but I didn't give two shots cuz I was deep in my feelings and I honestly didn't care who saw me (in hindsight I bet it was pretty wild to hear some guy crying while running past you) once again the last climb to the midpoint aid station was a soul snatched but I made it refueled and refilled bottles and took off again. I wanted to make up time but the downhill was too technical for me to go fast. Sunday was a three joint type of day to help with my pain and to get into the right mindset to finish what I had started. The last two miles were brutal and uphill in an aggressive way I was only able to collect one soul on that last stretch. Obviously I had to pick up the pace one it flattened put and I knew the finish was close. I was only able to flex for the pic but there were no celebratory push ups, I was gassed.
Thank you to coach Bill and my fellow Freestone scholars. To Amy and Brian, Patty and Christ

Back on the Rocky Mountain Trails were @thedreamteambmr belongs and it means everything.

It’s been almost a year since “The Dream Team” last ran together. A lot happened in that time: setbacks, rehab, time in the weight room, long late-night talks, and small wins that didn’t always look like running. But that’s where resilience is built; in the quiet work, the short walks, the consistency when nobody’s watching.

This weekend tested us. Tough miles, low water, and we underestimated the route but The Dream Team has no excuses. We leaned on everything we’ve been through, everything it took to fight our way back. We had each other finish. Two are always stronger than One!

And when it mattered most, we applied it. Nothing fancy; just heart. The mountain didn’t make it easy, but the Father-Son bond and the Brotherhood we represent carried us through. We didn’t quit. We finished.

Grateful to be back doing what we love. The Dream Team “Thee Mountain Goats is back where we belong! ⛰️🏔️🐐🐐🐐

✨ This Truly Hits Home ✨ Uncertainty To Prosperity ✨

Five years ago, my brothers Jeff B. Armstrong Sr. @jtweez010, Coach Bill Stahl - @stahlor, Henry Isom - @henry.isom.1, & Raheem Sisson - @harlemchildnyc stood side by side as members, alongside our former Denver Captain, Darrell B. Watson - @darrellbwatson Back then, we were simply part of something special: The @blackmenrundenver Chapter!

Today, five years later, we are still here. Through setbacks, challenges, and uncertain paths, we never stopped moving forward. What we have built together goes far beyond any individual accomplishment. It is rooted in longevity, strengthened by dedication, sustained through commitment, and carried forward by the courage to step out in faith, even when the road ahead was unclear.

We started with very little club experience and no shortcuts; just a shared vision, belief in one another, and a willingness to create something greater than we ever imagined possible. Every member, every step, every moment has been part of building this chapter from the ground up.

We laid the foundation then, and we are still building today. That is the heart of @blackmenrun. It is more than a run club; it is a Brotherhood. 🙏🏾✊🏾🙌🏾

As a wise man once said, “If you build it, Capt., they will come.” — Jeff Armstrong - @jtweez010 Thanks Capt. ❤️

We are proud to announce that Brother Keegan Vandermeer @sundance_kid92 is @blackmenrundenver Runner of the Month for June 2026. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉

Keegan is no stranger to @blackmenrun organization.
He was part of the chapter’s early leadership before the eras of Captains Armstrong and Captain Sisson helped shape Denver into what it is today. He later carried his gifts into the boxing world, where he continued to reach milestones through coaching, mentoring, and personal achievement. The Denver Chapter calls him “CHAMP” 🥊

Even as his journey evolved, the brotherhood never lost sight of him. We’ve continued to celebrate his wins, his bouts, and his dedication, always keeping the door open for his return. There has always been something special about Keegan. His spirit and character reflect the values that strengthen our chapter: spiritual growth, guidance, acceptance, love, protection, and unity.

Like a bald eagle soaring high above, Keegan brings a presence that uplifts and guides those around him. His connection to the brotherhood reflects a deep respect for the ancestors, Mother Earth, and the responsibility of walking in harmony with the Tribe and the Brotherhood. BMR-Denver, we live by moral code “No Man Left Behind,” and Keegan is a powerful reflection of that truth.

Because the eagle flies higher than any other bird, many tribes believe it carries prayers to the Creator. Eagle feathers symbolize trust, honor, strength, wisdom, and power, and receiving one is among the highest honors.
As a token of our appreciation, we honor you with a spiritual eagle feather, embodying the spirit of the Denver Chapter.

Thank you, Brother Keegan, for your leadership and for continuing to inspire the brotherhood through your journey and example. Congratulations on this well-earned recognition as “Runner of the Month” for June 2026. The Tribe will forever be in the Champs 🥊 Corner! ✊🏾

Happy 12th Anniversary to @blackmenrundenver! 1️⃣2️⃣

This journey has been built on dedication, consistency, and brotherhood. Every step, every mile, and every new member has contributed to what we are today. Nothing was handed to us; we earned it all, piece by piece, stride by stride.
Twelve years strong, and we continue to rise. Cheers to Thee Mountain Goats of the Denver Chapter and the powerful legacy we’re still building TOGETHER! “More Than A Run Club”
