NYC Theatre Dump!

1. @catsjellicleball quite literally I think made something click into place where I realized I have the potential to like CATS? Like I think maybe I have for a while.

2. @chessbway I need to see many more times (and will). Got tears in my eyes like five times literally just over the vocals.

3. Whole reason I went to NYC was finally to see @t22felton in @cursedchildus. Ended up falling in love with @aidanmclose and @emmetsmithnyc too! 💚

4. The original @spellingbeenyc was among my first Broadway shows. So happy to see it again 20 years later. @philippearroyo, @kevinmchale and @jasmine_amy_r were spectacalurrrr

5. @titaniquemusical + @justapieceofsky and a magical third ingredient is always a lethal time. Throw in meeting @jonmchu and POOF!

6. @justintimebway with @jeremymjordan but even more importantly @carriestlouis is SO entertaining and engaging.

7. @stonbroadway was electric and so creative and compelling. So happy I finally saw it.

I love this art form so very much.

Very delayed NYC dump 🌃

@ragtimerevival & @chessbway were sublime - haven’t been as LIT UP walking out of a show as I was walking out of Chess in so long.

So happy to see @xmckinnon in Heathers and @d_d_willy in The Book of Mormon 💙

Bid farewell to @lenciakebede and @litzjordan’s history making run in Wicked - and welcomed a beautiful new group in.

Saw so many people I love and went for several long walks through my favorite place.

The Wicked film is now out in its entirety and I’m overdue for a For Good Dump™️

Wicked is *the* art piece of my life.

Outside of it, I’m a fairly normal person — but there’s something about this exact combination of story, music, movement, visuals, and lore, especially as it intertwines with the fabric of American culture, that has gripped me for over twenty years.

It’s odd knowing this onscreen version will never be new again — that a chapter of being such a huge Wicked person has ‘closed.’

And yet, I couldn’t be more satisfied and happy with the version of Wicked that will now be carried forward.

I am very thankful to have had so many friends just come and sit with me this year and last to experience it. How lucky am I to have seen both films in theaters well into the double digits — and to have gone alone only once to each.

So thankful @jonmchu, @arianagrande, @cynthiaerivo, @jbayleaf took the care they did, and @idinamenzel, @kchenoweth, and Stephen Schwartz for creating something so beautiful that’s lasted, and now will last forever.

@wickedmovie 💚🖤

@suffsmusical deserved @hamiltonmusical-level success on broadway.

i’ve not been this infatuated with a new musical in nearly a decade and i feel so very fortunate to have gotten to see it several times both on broadway (including closing night last weekend) and off at the @publictheaterny in 2022.

it scratches so many itches for me. *excellent* original music, strong and 3D characters, and a politically driven story that tells of the real struggles between people within multiple facets of the same movement - all with the same goal, and how every one of them played a key role in achieving it. it taught me something, made me feel something, and motivated me to keep going in today’s world the way the characters did in their own time.

@shainataub is a literal lyrical and storytelling genius and i cannot wait to follow her career from now on (also, she’s one of my biggest @leftwrongcenterpod dream guests) and the rest of the company spread so much joy through the storytelling.

you, yes you, must see it on tour if you get the chance. and believe you me - i will go with you 💜💜
