🚨 NEW HEAD COACH ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Jamie Shambach has been named the new head coach of the Selinsgrove Area girls varsity basketball program, taking over for Matthew Salsman, who recently left to become the head coach at Lewisburg.

Shambach brings years of experience within the Selinsgrove program, serving as a varsity assistant since 2022 and JV head coach since 2022. During her time with the program, Selinsgrove earned a district playoff victory, its first in 16 years, along with six Heartland All-Conference selections.

Now, Shambach takes the reins as the program enters a new era. 🏀

🚨 COACHING UPDATE: Lewisburg Girls Basketball 🚨

Per the district website and inside sources, Matt Salsman has been announced as the new Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for the Lewisburg Dragons.

Salsman returns to Lewisburg with a strong coaching background, previously leading the boys varsity basketball program from 2018-2021. Before taking over the Dragons’ boys program, Salsman served as a boys varsity assistant at Midd-West.

After his time coaching boys basketball at Lewisburg, Salsman made the move to the girls game, taking over the Selinsgrove girls varsity basketball program and continuing to develop players and build his coaching experience.

Now returning to Lewisburg, Salsman looks to bring his leadership, experience, and passion for the game to the Dragons’ girls program as he works to continue building success and help take the team as far as possible.

Congratulations to Coach Salsman on his return to Lewisburg!

My first time covering lacrosse was a major success. Two champions were crowned, and seven individuals were interviewed. I’m wishing those moving onto states the best next Tuesday!

Major shoutout goes to @stamatiosvarias for these incredible photos. Shoutout to @nicks_statline for handling statistics and video coverage during the two games.
