The best in edgy, thought-provoking comedy. In the tradition of Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and George Carlin. We like our truth straight-up & bitter.

How many Yiddish words can you catch between belly laughs? 😂🤠✡️

Take a listen to Dick Davy’s hilarious “The Bar Mitzvah Dude Ranch” and put your Yiddish knowledge to the test!

Dick Davy was the Arkansas-born Southern alter ego of comedian Richard Davy, who performed at the legendary Apollo Theater before retiring his act in 1968. His story was nearly lost to history until an archivist stumbled upon his recordings.

But here’s the real plot twist: Richard Davy wasn’t his real name either! Born Richard Hoffman in New York to a family of rabbis, he created an unforgettable character who brought Southern charm and Jewish humor together. 👢🤠

So here we are day, 19 of my 100 days of 100 Comedian interviews and one of the greats @realstanhope is today’s pick. I recorded this at his compounding Bisbee Arizona. He was such a great host even made me tuna melts in the middle of the night after we’ve been up drinking. Such a sweet guy and so brilliantly funny. #comedyinterview #funny #standup #standupcomedy #interviews

Another cool thing: Dandy @donaldsimpson1713 included the cover for the upcoming @fairenoughcomic #6 (WIP ashcan available now!) in his newest crowdsourced book, Megaton Man Microbus. Contact Don for more info. It arrived at the end of August, signed and everything. @daniellobell and I could not be happier. Thanks, Don!

In the last year, I've actually released three and 1/10 books. In between writing jags on Ferris Bueller...You're My Hero, I finished (after 20 years) a throwback piece of fiction called "The Adventures of Blueberry Dorsal," and then completed a truncated history of my sketch/improv group, Dan and Jay's Comedy Hour, released in conjunction with our first phonograph cylinder, "The Inquisitive Florist," which was definitely recorded in 1902. "Ferris Bueller...You're My Hero" capped it all off, and this final image is me smashing several bits from the book together. I gave this out as a sticker at the @mahoningdriveintheater to the first twenty or so people who bought the book. I told them to not open the sticker till they were done, as the joke wouldn't pay off till then, if it did at all. It's mostly for me. I also wrote the 6,500-word liner notes for the first comedy LP I've ever produced, "Presenting...Dick Davy" (I guess I like ellipses), something I'm increasingly proud of.

I'm currently working on my next comedy album and three new books, including a 50-page hardcover guide to the Dan and Jay museum-style exhibit that was at the @detroitpubliclibrary in September, entitled "The Historicum."

This is our friend John. He owns @tradeatapecomiccenter in Lincoln, Nebraska, our chosen home town. Go visit the shop and say hi. You can pick up both our fake #chicktracts, #lifesajoke and the #openmic (both by @eliotrahal w/art by @jkotz and Rob Nance). A solidly great shop!

This weekend is @quimbysbookstore’s 35th anniversary! Amazing! I think I’ve been shopping there since the Sex Pistols played the Aragon Ballroom, which turned 100 recently. Anyway, stop by, pick up some stuff, including our fake #chicktract the #openmic (by @eliotrahal and Rob Nance). Happy anniversary!
