🍕 | A new 120-seat pizzeria is set to open at Liverpool’s Stanley Dock this winter, transforming a historic Victorian pumphouse as part of a £1.5 million redevelopment.

Named 1848 Stanley Dock, the new restaurant will open inside the Grade II-listed Hydraulic Pumphouse and Accumulator Tower, bringing another new food and drink destination to the city’s waterfront.

The name has been revealed today (5 October) to coincide with World Architecture Day and pays tribute to 1848, the year Jesse Hartley’s Stanley Dock officially opened.

Operated by Titanic Hotel Liverpool and owned by Harcourt Developments, the 4,400 sq ft restaurant will combine the building’s Victorian industrial heritage with a contemporary new design.

One of its standout features will be a glass-walled extension overlooking the dock, complete with 18.5ft-high ceilings and glazed doors leading onto a waterfront dining terrace.

A dramatic 23ft-high atrium will connect the new extension with the original brick boiler room, creating a central dining space and cocktail bar.

Plans also include a new galleried mezzanine providing additional seating. The lower level will retain feature brick walls, while upstairs will offer a more intimate private dining area and lounge.
