BEAUTY DOESN’T EXPIRE. IT EVOLVES.

For 34 years, I built my life in medicine.

Then I walked into one of the most youth-obsessed industries in the world and started all over.

Fashion taught me something I wish more women could see:

We don’t become less interesting, less beautiful or less worthy of being seen as we age.

We evolve.

I’m not interested in trying to look 30.

I’m much more interested in discovering what strength, beauty, sensuality and possibility can look like at every stage of a woman’s life.

Today, I get to experience that from two very different perspectives: as a doctor who has spent decades studying health and helping people live better, and as a model stepping onto runways and in front of cameras at a stage of life when women have historically shied away from the limelight.

I am honored that this photoshoot became a cover for The Pro-Age Woman.

Every time an older woman is represented as powerful, fashionable, sensual and relevant, we expand the picture of what aging can look like for the women coming behind us.

I’m not modeling despite my age.

My age is part of the story.

What does retirement mean to you, and when is the right time to retire? I think about this because several of my closest friends are retiring and enjoying traveling the world hanging out with friends, and basically not working at all.

I ran a successful holistic wellness practice as a doctor for 34 years, and now entering my fourth year as an international model and content creator. I almost feel like I'm working harder than ever!

This year I modeled in Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week. I also did photo shoots all over the world including India and London.

Please help me out. I'd love to hear your thoughts about "When is the right time to retire?" and an even bigger question, "Do we need to retire?"
