After producing and directing countless #fashionshow this is a rare occasion I am on camera. I always behind the lens, directing the runway and then personally film it to make it is properly capture. But thanks to @stantrac for capturing this from November 2023 season of @fashionarttoronto it’s a joy to produce and direct, but sadly, my journey in fashion runway will be coming to a end soon over next year, I’ll retired on a high note with lots of amazing memories. However, I still be part of various fashion related activities, most importantly always going to be a cheerleader and supporter of #canadianfashion #canadianmodel and #canadiandesigner

Juan Iskandar, Canadian born Indonesian fashion designer, recently made waves at the Canada Fashion Council (CFC) 2024 opening event in Toronto. His participation in this prestigious event adds to his impressive list of achievements in the international fashion world.

For the CFC 2024, Juan Iskandar presented a collection titled “Metempsikosis (Reincarnation): Soul Tapestries and the Rebirth of Elegance.” This theme weaves together heritage and innovation in the global mosaic of fashion, much like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Each piece in the collection stands tall with drama and volume, expressing multiple facets within a single form. According to Juan, this collection celebrates the eternal cycle of life, where every ending is merely the beginning of a new chapter—a rebirth of timeless style and substance.

The garments in this collection are like chapters in an artistic journey, where each stitch forms a word, and each color becomes a poetic verse. Juan Iskandar also highlights hidden fasteners and customizable components, ready to reveal the next incarnation of design. His creations have evolved to be bolder and more transformative, reflecting the wisdom gained through each reincarnation.

“Metempsikosis (Reincarnation)” embodies dynamic metamorphosis, mirroring the evolution of the designer and

the artistry behind each gown. These dresses come alive, transforming before our eyes, creating new silhouettes with every movement—a soul seeking enlightenment through its journey.

Beyond mere fashion display, Juan Iskandar crafts a soulful voyage—a pilgrimage of garments from Southeast Asia to the cosmopolitan Canadian catwalk, narrating the journey across the threads of time. His presence at the CFC 2024 marks a significant achievement for Indonesian fashion on the global stage.
