In despite of how my trip ended with food poisoning and having to play two sets at @thefestfl then travel home only to find out my cymbals and snare didn’t make it back, I had a blast! (it’s ok, American Airlines is delivering it tonight… they better! 😩)

Drumming for @her_heads_on_fire while opening for @texasisthereasonofficial who I grew up listening to and have since become homies with was an honor. Thank you guys! Added bonus that we got to do one show with @algernoncadwalladerband and traveling w/ the homie @shawn___frosty & new homie @shutterhappyjose

Eventually meeting up with @beinnband to play with our friends @mollymcguireband was also a treat!

Added bonus, I got to spend DC with my wife and meet Ian Mackaye at @dischordrecords (all thanks to her) and see Greet Death at Black Cat! ❤️❤️❤️

I finally met my boss, Lisa Root of @newnoisemagazine at The Fest and witness @drought_band @memoryentry @theactualbaileypope @neilrubenstein crush it and spend time w/ @freezingcoldband

Here’s my little recap of the amazing trip I had!

What a great fucking day.

Texas Is the Reason took me on an emotional roller coaster. One of my favorite bands from my previous life still hits just as hard as ever. What I didn’t expect were the waterworks.

Thirty years ago, an unexpected unexpected, prolonged detour with Sense Field, Jimmy Eat World, and Mineral was the last time I was in Gainesville. The last time I was here, I was with the late Jon Bunch.

The universe has a way of hitting you right in the feels, today is Jon’s birthday. His presence was felt. ❤️

Rest easy, Jon. You’re still part of the soundtrack.

FEST is absolutely living up to the hype. Some things never leave you and neither do some people.

This is becoming our new favorite part of the set. Seeing and hearing you sing along truly makes our night.

TONIGHT is the crème de la crème of this run. We will be playing the @thefestfl for the first time ever on the @heartwoodsoundstage at 10:10PM. So we hope to see as many of you there and sing along to these songs. ✨♥️

From what I can figure, I haven't been to the Eagles Ballroom in 32 years. The sound is as shitty as ever. But Texas is the Reason was as great as ever, so it didn't matter much.

One of my absolute all time favorites playing some of the absolute all time great songs.

Oh, Turnstile played too.

Texas forever.

Fourteen years since our last show in DC and you did not disappoint. And holy shit Charlotte! What an incredible welcome to your city. You really let us dig into these songs and we for sure felt the love. We’re in Atlanta tonight at @masquerade_atl (hell) w/ @algernoncadwalladerband and @her_heads_on_fire.
Join us. ✨
