we’ve tackled the age old question of whether Canva is any good for designing? Find out along with us as we determine if the assets are fresh and funky? Whether the tools are useable? And how can our design expertise make the jump from the monopoly of Adobe to the uncharted depths of the competitor? Ep is out on YouTube and the link in the bio :)

Postcard designs on one BIG whiteboard in Canva! thanks to all the designers and Canva contributors that help make it possible to access such cool assets in the program!

A special thanks to Jared Cohn at Getty Images for the cheetah pictures in Austin’s design and Sparklestroke Global for the amazing hand drawn images in Katie’s design.

Welcome back to another episode of Design Grand Slams! Where we watch Katie and Austin agonize over their most recent designs. In this episode limits were reached, patience was tested, and posters were maybe(?) designed. It’s not always fun and games here on the SHD channel, but we hope you in the audience are enjoying the show 💫 episode is live on YouTube :)

Special Memorial Shout Out to Katie’s lost footage. RIP may it rest in pixelated oblivion in the wild transparent checkerboard yonder

In ep002 we talking about how we navigate reading, unplugging from our phones, and we design bookmarks to share with our communities. Learning by Heart by Corita Kent and Jan Steward is a book we gave ourselves to read before starting this channel and it has been so influential to us as artists and building an artful life. Ep002 goes live this Wednesday at 4pm :)

for all the negatives of social media, there are some positives as well! being able to connect with each other virtually has brought an immersive amount of support and the start of something new and fun! we hope that we can use this platform to build an organic community to connect with like it worked out for us :)
