🥭 we ordered grilled lamb chops, spicy thai som tum salad (also known as papaya salad),12hr braised angus short ribs, tropical mango fish, spicy tom yum soup, royal crown fried rice, and mango sticky rice! everything was so so refreshing and tasty. the short ribs were sooo tender, the papaya salad and lamb chops were extremely flavorful, and the mangos were really sweet. the mango sticky rice came with thai tea (and coconut?) ice cream and they surprisingly went so well together. we had never had mango sticky rice with thai tea so that was definitely a super unique experience. however, none of the dishes were spicy; i wished they had a hint of spice.

🌸 overall everything was really good and i would definitely recommend trying! the restaurant was also very clean and spacious. our server was also really nice and friendly :)

🧸 $$$ —— very pricey; our total came out to be almost $250

📍Star Leaf

Star leaf basically took traditional dishes I was familiar with and tweaked things to make it feel fancy. There were many celebrations and dates going on around us. They have many locations all across Asia, and Pasadena is their first US spot.

WHAT WE ATE - LUNCH ($29)
- Saigon summer rice paper rolls + Thai royal curry (comes with soft shell crab)
- Spicy Thai som tum salad (green papaya salad) + Malay captain’s curry

WHAT WE ATE DINNER MENU
- Pork collar - a build your own situation
- Royal crown fried rice - I loved this because of the roe in every bite and it was packed with seafood
- The pink Mekong - a coconut cream with fruits and other surprises
- Tropical panda cotta coconut bowl (comes in a whole coconut)
