I don’t know what else to say that others haven’t said 🤣 It’s a great experience to be surrounded by so much Pokemon but also by people from around the world equally into Pokemon and as passionate about their faves as all of us. It’s all about the community that’s what keeps me engaged through social media on here! Appreciate everyone! See you all in Singapore!

all this from buying a single pokémon card 🥹

I don’t get sappy here very often but as this year comes to a close, I realize how fortunate I am to have a community who is just as excited about Pokemon as me ❤️ Over the past two years I’ve made two cross country moves from the midwest to the west coast, and back again, leaving everything I knew behind to pursue new ventures in science and my career. Saying goodbye to family the first move and friends the second move was hard, but I decided to put myself out there after buying a few cards, reviving this account, and start going to Pokemon events with each move.

In 2023 I went to NAIC alone, but I had the best time meeting new people, playing side events, running to the Pokemon Center to catch a restock with people I had just met, and also meeting my friend Pat for the first time.

Playing the game at local tournaments in my new places is where I’ve met all my local friends, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the friendships made there and the built in community it provides. I’ve been taken under the wing of friends at Regional competitions, helping me find a place to stay or chat between rounds too!

I got to meet so many of my online friends this year at NAIC as well, and every time I leave one of these events I feel so overwhelmed with joy because I feel a part of something so special with my favorite people 🥹

This is my reminder that you should stay passionate, follow what you love, and it’ll bring you to unexpected places ❤️ I’d like to thank little kid me for being a nerd about Pokemon and staying a nerd until now, I seriously don’t know what I’d do without this community.

My goal in 2025 is to keep fostering these connections and following what makes me happy - what’s yours? ✨

2025 has been a really exciting year with getting to meet with so many people from the community in person! 🌎
From Pokemon Worlds in Anaheim to visiting Japan. It’s been a significant year! And hoping to continue that into 2026 and beyond!

Not to get too mushy but it has meant a lot to connect with so many wonderful people, it has significantly changed my life to have made this account randomly one December night in 2020. Not to be dramatic too 🤧 Something special about all of us sharing similar interests! We all come from diverse backgrounds and experiences but we all come together for the same things that make us all smile. 🥺

I have SOOOO many photos to go through and post (I promise I will share and upload ASAP!) this weekend was definitely one to remember! I’m so beyond thankful for the Pokémon Community because it’s filled with wonderful and beautiful souls that I’m so lucky to have met and befriended over the weekend! Some of us have only been online friends up until and now some of us just met for the very first time and it was like catching up with old friends again 🥺 ⭐️

Pokemon helped evolve us into the type of adults we are today and so thankful to know such kind, funny and positive members of this community! ⚡️

The only bad thing about NAIC 2024 is that it ended 😭 so until next year! I hope we can reunite again soon! 💛

#PokemonNAIC Day 3! Last day of the event and the championships!

We hit up the Pokémon kiosks first for a lil gaming sesh, then ran over to PlayLabs for a quick TCG match and some free loot. Then we synced up with some pals for puppet shenanigans, as well as final goodbyes as some friends started leaving early.

Finally we settled in to watch Masters Finals (look ma I’m on stream!) as well as participate in the #PokemonGo #pokemoncommunityday for Goomy! ✨ Congrats to @pat_con5 for winning VGC Masters, game 3 was the most hype match I’ve watched in a while!!!

This trip was such a fun one, I got to hang out with old friends and meet new ones, which is all I can ever ask for from a Pokémon event! 🥰 Thanks to everyone to said hi and hung out, and I’ll see you back in New Orleans for NAIC 2025!!

Before I turn my focus back to Card Party for the weekend here are my closing thoughts on NAIC— if you needed a sign, this is it.

From getting a match loss for playing the wrong opponent in a record-breaking event to navigating down Bourbon Street back to the hotel at 4am, NAIC was a weekend I’ll never forget. I spent time with my best friends, finally met some amazing people I’ve gotten to know over the years and left understanding the true meaning of why I do all this to begin with— to encourage others to go out and do whatever it is that gives them this same feeling of happiness and fulfillment.

NAIC might be in the past but I hope to see some familiar faces at worlds… or Card Party this weekend! Tune in to my story to follow along and if you’re around come say hi and let’s play the TCG :D
