What a journey it has been.
I could have never imagined all the friends I have made in such a short period of time.
In my late teens and early 20s I always felt like quite a bit of an outcast. I would go to social gatherings and just never felt like I belonged.
The fandom has done so much for my mental and as well as my physical health.
Y’all have inspired, motivated and sparked the creativity back into me that I thought was long gone.
Outside of the fandom, I had always felt like a bit of a nobody.. constantly talked down to, and treated as such.
I did not care much for myself, and did not always surround myself with the greatest people.
All I’ve ever wanted was to make people smile be happy, and laugh when I make jokes. On the outside I may seem like the average blue collar worker. For the longest time, I wasn’t sure what direction my life was going in, or what sort of purpose I had, to continue working a job, and being paid money… For what sort of motivation? To just exist?
I have always wanted to travel, and I have always wanted to be part of something bigger.
I yearned for the large group of friends that you see going out, laughing, and having a fun time together. Something about the camaraderie in finding a place where you belong… Where you feel like your presence is actually wanted. I finally have that now. I’m finally traveling now. I’m finally now living my life happily in my early 30s…
The friendships that I have now made, feel like I’ve been friends with them since childhood, and I’ve missed that for a really long time.
