POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HAPPENS TO MEN TOO. AND YES, IT HAPPENS IN SAME-SEX RELATIONSHIPS.

I’m sharing this because I’m tired of the silence.

I’m a man. I’m gay. And I’ve experienced domestic violence in a same-sex relationship.

One of the hardest things about speaking up is feeling like people don’t understand how a man can be a victim of abuse, especially when you’re bigger or physically stronger than your partner.

I’ll never forget being asked by a police officer, “Look how big you are. Couldn’t you control the situation?”

I had a knife held to me on few occasions, stalked and intimidated and told when I move on and find someone else he will get bashed.

Let that sink in.

Someone holding a knife to you isn’t about how big you are. It’s about your safety, your life and the fear you experience in that moment.

Being a man doesn’t make you immune to abuse. Being gay doesn’t make your experience any less real. And being physically stronger doesn’t mean you can’t be frightened, controlled, threatened or hurt by the person you’re supposed to feel safe with.

Domestic violence isn’t always visible. Sometimes the wounds are emotional. Sometimes they’re psychological. Sometimes you carry the experience long after the relationship has ended.

I’m sharing my story publicly because I want people to start having honest conversations about domestic violence in same-sex relationships.

I want other men to know they’re not weak for speaking up. They’re not less of a man for being a victim. They deserve to be heard, believed, protected and supported.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I’m sharing it because silence protects stigma, and awareness can help change lives. ✊🏽🙏🏽🏳️‍🌈

Everyone deserves a place where they can be themselves. A place where their culture is celebrated, their identity is embraced, and they can truly feel: I belong here.

In 2027, Euphoria Foundation, Our Point 3 and Invictus Health are coming together to bring Lanterns of Pride to life… a FREE Lunar New Year-inspired celebration as part of Midsumma Festival!

We’re creating a space where LGBTQIAPN+ people from Asian and multicultural backgrounds, alongside families, friends and allies, can come together to celebrate culture, connection, identity and pride.

Think traditional lion dance, cultural performances, a Lantern Wishes Tree, food, creative activities and opportunities to connect with community.

Because nobody should have to choose between their culture and their identity.

🏮 Culture belongs.
🌈 Identity belongs.
❤️ Everyone belongs.

@senatorjacquilambie is a legend. @senatorpaulinehanson is a sad excuse for a human being. I guarantee, after today a great deal of Australians will agree that even an old trans girl like me …is more of a woman than Pauline Hanson will ever be. Good to see the @starobserver reporting on this story. I have been dismayed and pretty disgusted to see some of the comments on the Star Observer Facebook page (including from gay men) that mock the crime of sexual touching.

There is nothing remotely funny or amusing about such behaviour. It is never ok without consent. I hope the police find the man they are looking for or he comes forward. I also hope the alleged victim has been given any support they need.

The NSW Police Force is appealing for public assistance to locate a man involved in a sexual touching incident in a Darlinghurst bar earlier this year on March 1st which was the Sunday evening after this year’s @sydneymardigras parade.

I’d never comment on #firstnations #aboriginalandtorresstraitislander mob — but once you slipped on the white p-wer colours @kangaroojack850 — you became just anothet ziopaedo N-zi.
Sad thing is, boy, you’re at the tail end of the #humancentipede too? 🤷‍♀️ Like, @karlstefanovic_ boyfriend ‘Tiny Christy’ @big.chocky first, then his guzzling churchie boyfriend @barnos.au @rawchats in the middle, in the spit where he loves it. And then you go last, whats in it for you lol? Umm #urgay #sogay
So Kangatoo Jack, its ok that you suck doink. But instead of being a downlow f-ggot with those reach-arounds …come suck my lady doink, like a REAL MAN. Or are you too deep downlow now, boy?

This Is Why Pride Still Matters

Every year, when Pride Month comes around, we hear the same question:
“Why do we still need Pride?”

The answer is simple.

Because belonging is something we continue to build.

Pride celebrates how far LGBTQIAPN+ communities have come, while reminding us there is still work to do.

Across Australia, many people in our communities continue to face challenges because of who they are, who they love, their gender identity, their culture, their background, or the many parts of their identity that make them who they are.

For some, it’s transphobia.
For some, it’s racism.
For others, it’s navigating life as an LGBTQIAPN+ person while balancing culture, family, faith, disability, migration experiences, or other parts of their story.

Inclusion is more than being invited into a space.
True belonging means being welcomed as your whole self.

At Euphoria Foundation, we believe wellbeing starts with connection. It starts with having people around you who see you, support you and remind you that you belong.

Pride isn’t just about one month of celebration.
It’s about creating communities where people can connect, share their stories, express who they are and feel supported every day of the year.
Because everyone deserves to feel seen.

Everyone deserves to feel connected.
Everyone deserves to belong.
That’s why Pride still matters.
