Thrilled to announce that some of the East African narrative and documentary projects are set to shine at the DEENTAL Project in Senegal next year! They'll be diving into the nitty-gritty of film production and financing, and guess what? Two producers will get a chance to attend the prestigious DEENTAL@Cannes program during the @festivaldecannes in May 2024. Congratulations @doreendoddo @dreassefa @dylanhabil , @didouskaduha and @loelshoaferaw here's to the next chapter of storytelling excellence!

The Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab was born from a vision to elevate the creative instincts and technical skills of East African Producers. Initially, the transformative program set out to create a workshop tailor-made for the local community of filmmakers to help match what was being taught and passed on in international workshops for Film Producers.
The Lab is all about honing creative instincts, mastering technical skills, and navigating the global film business. In this year's edition, our horizons expanded in collaboration with the CNC as part of the DEENTAL program, welcoming the vibrant energy of West Africa into our creative mix. Together, we fostered a dynamic blend of narrative and documentary projects. Here's to breaking boundaries, bridging borders, and crafting stories that resonate internationally! Cheers to the art of storytelling and the community we're building

Meet the amazing mentors who joined in this year's ride and fully managed to inspire us with their invaluable industry and life lessons, to help guide and support each project and its Filmmaker best from the point they were in.

Young Africans are agents of change on the continent and around the world.

During the #IncredibleAfricans panel discussion on the sidelines of #UNGA78, @Areejnoor addressed the significance of young Africans using their creative talents in film, fashion, music, and other industries to change negative depictions of Africa in mainstream media.

"Can You See Us" is so beautiful. At this point I should confess that I cried while seeing the film.

Enjoyed writing this interview. Link in bio.
