State of Grace is one of the few I keep coming back to. From the oysters and steak frites to some of my favorite desserts in the city, this place rarely disappoints. Definitely one I’d recommend for a special occasion. @stateofgracetx

33, single, and apparently incapable of staying home 😂

Breakfast, soccer, shopping, groceries, dinner with friends, a massage, and somehow still ended up bowling.

Just another Sunday in Houston.

Brunch at State of Grace. Don’t skip the griddle cakes and buttermilk syrup. Thank me later. I would make a reservation. I sat in the Oyster Bar area. Love the light in there. The main dining room is beautiful too. #explorehouston #brunch #review #thingstodohouston

Give me one Sunday in Houston and I’ll show you why this city is so underrated.

Comment MOVING and I’ll send you my Moving to Houston Guide.

Start with breakfast at @adair_kitchen in West U, then take the long way through the neighborhood—the tree-lined streets and beautiful homes are part of the reason people love living here.

From there, head over to Rice Village. Grab a coffee, walk the shops, and spend some time exploring one of those parts of Houston where you can park the car and just wander for a while.

Later, make your way through River Oaks. Drive the residential streets, take in some of Houston’s most beautiful architecture, and finish the day with dinner at @stateofgracetx on Westheimer.

Three neighborhoods. Three completely different sides of Houston. And you never had to leave the center of the city.

That’s what I think people underestimate about Houston. It isn’t just how much there is to do—it’s how different life can look from one neighborhood to the next.

Underrated usually just means nobody has shown you the right Houston yet.

If you’re thinking about moving here, comment MOVING and I’ll send you my Moving to Houston Guide.

State of Grace brings Gulf Coast ingredients, polished interiors, and a distinctly Houston point of view to Westheimer 🍽️ 🥂 It is the kind of local favorite that makes dinner out feel like an occasion.

Equal Housing Opportunity.

One of the things I love about living in River Oaks… My favorite restaurant, @stateofgracetx is a two minute walk from my front door.👏🏼

Houston may not always get credit for being walkable, but there are little pockets where dinner, drinks and some of your favorite places really are just a stroll away.

Just one more reason I’m very happy to call this neighborhood (and Houston) home.

Tell me your favorite Houston restaurant, and I promise I can find you a house nearby. 😉

1st Birthday 🎂 Plan for this very Special Guy 🤭 @emofezz 💜

1st - Restored a nice purple bracelet he had that fell apart. Wanted to make this a gift.

2nd - Got him something he had been craving for a whiiiile since he has been on a health kick lately 🥹 But...I ruined it to get him some breakfast from Whataburger 😂 I woke up extra early to go buy it, and drop it off at his work desk (while he was in my ear), all before I had to go in for work myself. Hehehe

3rd - Took him to State of Grace to check out some of their dinner items. They were delicious 😍 Loved that we had Mario as our server. It was such a lovely evening ☺️ He looks so cute! 😭

4th - The next day after his birthday, was a Friday, and I lied to him about where I was taking him. I had to blindfold him so that he would be surprised at this "Dinner and a Show" type of event...but actually...

....I planned a Surprise Birthday Smash Tournament 😅

Had to make sure everyone kept it hush hush. And apparently it could have been spoiled, but thankfully he doesn't get on phone messages as much 😮‍💨

Anywho! I wanted to make this super special, (not only because I'm his gf) but because he is an amazing person & loved friend to so many. This had to be planned at least a month in advance. So keeping this quiet was no joke. And there was no way I was going to be able to do this by myself!

✨️ Thank you JMan and Angie for hosting this at your place and for providing the food!
✨️ Thank you Pati and Elsie for helping with putting together....THE HOMEMADE YO-YO'S 🌭!!! They were so 💣 bomb guys!!!
✨️ Thank you Elsie and Coco for making the Blueberry Cheesecake! It was so yummy 🤤
✨️ Thank you Stef and Angie for decorating! I'm so glad they looked good. Ordered these on Amazon since they would be The Legend of Zelda and Smash Bros themed 😅
✨️ Thanks to everyone who showed up to play the tournament to make it so fun and special! And yes, there was a 💰 cash buy in for the winner money pot. And the BIRFDAY BOI WON!!! 🏆 What a treat!

5th - I ordered a gift for him 3 weeks prior. I found great reviews over this real feeling 'Master Sword'😮 The nerd has a SWORD now!

Hope you enjoyed 😘

📍State of Grace | Houston, TX

@stateofgracetx is officially on my Houston brunch list! The pancakes were SO fluffy, and that syrup was delicious. But the crab & corn hush puppies stole the show for us! 🤤

Here’s everything we tried
🥞 Pancakes — 9/10
🦀 Crab & Corn Hush Puppies — 9.5/10
🥐 Biscuits + Seasonal Jam (Mango) — 8/10
🐟 Smoked Salmon — 7.5/10
☕️ Vanilla Iced Latte — 10/10

The restaurant is gorgeous, the staff was so sweet, and they even surprised us with a complimentary Texas pecan ball that was SO good! 🥹

Definitely coming back for that cinnamon roll next time. 👀
