Theo Katzman | The State Room | October 14, 2026
I’ve loved Vulfpeck for years but never caught them live, so seeing Theo Katzman was a treat. What a frontman! The expressions, the crowd interaction, the laughs, the tender moments. Gifted!
And here’s a fun bit of State Room history...
Theo told the crowd he’d been putting together a living room set for the tour and spotted a pair of lamps at The State Room. He asked if he could buy them, a conversation was had, and a deal was struck.
So those two lamps that used to live in The State Room’s green room are now on tour with Theo Katzman.
A little piece of Salt Lake music history hitting the road. I love it.

In case you haven’t heard yet, @trashmooncollective has been cooking up this Hootenanny for months! Grab your tickets on @stateroompresents website or on our website for Will-call tickets.

✨ Trash Moon Collective Medieval Hootenanny IV ✨

Join the Trash Moon Collective for its 4th annual Medieval-Themed Hootenanny on Friday, November 13th at the Commonwealth Room! What started as a collaborative, antic-filled fundraiser to raise money for a dear friend in our bluegrass community, is now an annual celebration of Salt Lake’s bluegrass, old time, and folk music community. From musicians to jammers, dancers, river boaters, organizers, adventure-seekers, and music lovers, we want to celebrate and welcome you all.

The evening will include performances from an all-star cast of musicians, featuring members from some of the hottest bluegrass and ‘grass adjacent bands in town – @pompenhoney , @hothousewest_ , @pearlyblueband , @utahfolkorchestra , @partygrassmusic , @thepickpocketsbluegrass , & @the_brine_shrimps . Musicians will come together one-night only for a shred-tastic collaboration. Think Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, but with more color, more costumes & swords, more dancing, and more of a twang that can only come from musicians who play hard in the mountains and on the stage.

Ticket sales will go to the performing artists and to support the Trash Moon Collective, an organization that is a hub for bluegrass, old time, and folk music in Salt Lake City. The Collective organizes shows, jams, dances, and workshops to build and support musicians and community music. What is community music? Well, back before big stages and Taylor Swift, music was the fabric of community. Musicians played local dances, music happened on porches, kids learned fiddle from their neighbors, music was for everyone. And we believe that making music a more accessible part of people’s lives builds relationships, strengthens communities and, well, makes life more fun.

Come 7-8pm to meet our community partners including @acousticmusicslc @theneighborhoodhive @bikeraft @mobanjoco @tedfestmusic and more! ✨
