MEET THE POTTER We are absolutely delighted to introduce another wonderful talent joining us for this year's Holiday Show & Sale: Carol from Pink Door Pottery! Carol describes her unique pottery style in two simple words: "User friendly." Her beautiful collection perfectly reflects that practical philosophy, offering highly functional, everyday tableware designed with warm earthy tones, rich flowing glazes, and comfortable, ergonomic handles. 🎬 In the Studio: Watch the opening video to see Carol using her trusty #giffengrip and adding her beautiful makers signature to the underside of a piece—the ultimate finishing touch of an intentional, handcrafted design! Here is what Carol shared about her dedicated studio practice and love for the craft: ✨ Her Studio Happy Place: For Carol, throwing is her ultimate joy. She finds it is "a chance to focus and just concentrate on the clay to form something new." 🎓 Learn From Carol: Want to expand your skills? Carol still has spots available in her upcoming adult Level 2 Wheel Throwing class starting this upcoming Sunday, October 18! If you already feel comfortable centering clay and want to explore advanced throwing techniques, check out the calendar @stationgallery in Whitby to secure your spot before it fills up. ❤️ The Power of Storytelling: One of the reasons Carol is so passionate about ceramics is the deep community connection built through handmade craft. She believes that local art tells a vital story about our home, as she shares: "In every community across the country, small businesses exist and many are ceramic artists. Artisans make unique pieces reflecting the culture or environment where they’re created, and I love seeing and hearing their stories." 🧪 Studio Secrets: Carol throws her functional pieces using #tuckersmidsmoothstone She masterfully formulates and mixes her own signature glazes (including a gorgeous floating blue green), while also incorporating #PSHSnowflex and Coyote Light Green Shino for her stunning finishes! 📅 Save the Date: Come meet Carol and shop her beautiful "user friendly" collection in person on November 14 & 15 at the Ajax Community Centre! 🎟️

MEET THE POTTER We are absolutely thrilled to introduce another incredible talent joining us for this year's Holiday Show & Sale: Kristin! Kristin is a true master of the wheel, and her passion for clay shines through every single piece she creates. From classic functional tableware to festive holiday items, her work balances technical skill with an incredibly fun, creative energy. Here is a quick look behind the scenes of her studio practice: ✨ Her Studio Happy Place: Kristin completely lights up when working on the wheel! She has the most fun during the trimming stage, playing with decorative slips, and creating texture with 'chattering' 🏺 Recent Success: She loves creating delicate little ornaments "off the hump" and recently crushed a personal studio goal by crafting a gorgeous lidded casserole dish! 🧪 Studio Secrets: Her go-to materials are #tuckerssmoothstonespeck and #PSH519 For her vibrant finishes, she relies heavily on Spectrum glazes, proudly supporting a fantastic Canadian brand! 📹 Process in Action: Watch the video to see Kristin apply her colored slips and use a chattering technique to carve those stunning, rhythmic ridges! 👉 Swipe through the carousel to catch a sneak peek of some of her finished collections—including those beautiful chattered bowls, cozy gradient mugs, handmade angels, and the most charming gnome bottle stoppers! 📅 Save the Date: Come meet Kristin and shop her beautiful collections in person on November 14 & 15 at the Ajax Community Centre! 🎟️
