ripe has been selected for Canada’s Top Ten Showcase presented by @tiff_net and @mubicanada!

It’s such a joy to share this news in the new year, and as I look back now at the hard work, the fond memories, the hot humid days on that durian farm in Cai Lậy, I can’t help but think (with a touch of derangement)… I can’t wait to do it all over again.

Thanks once again to our cast, crew, artists, collaborators, supporters, friends, and family, who helped make this film happen!

And so happy to post our poster art by the talented @xuanlocxuan

Achieving focus in film is crucial. For the project Durex, Director Yasmine wants the depth of field to be as thin as possible. So even if the project's Gaffer is Long, the industry's focusing genius, there’re still times when the focus slips up and down. Mr Tung - Steadicam, also needs to feel the rhythm of the character's performance to capture the best storytelling frame.

This month we had a quick chat with one of Saigon's most sought-after cinematographers, señor @ray.lavers, hailing all the way from Prince Edward Island. From ASC workshops to the future of AI tech in production, Ray was kind enough to share a few words of wisdom between tight turnaround times on set 🙏🏻

Sadly, there's only so much we can fit into one social post... We're redesigning our blog so we share the full crew Q&A interviews but, until then, head on over to Ray's website for a lil' peek at his award-winning work: raylavers.com
