We’re back!!! New single release day for us. It’s been a while. But @therevdoctorz has come up with the good with this incredible song. This tune is not for the feint hearted. We’ve pulled out all stops here and Zane has delivered some of his best playing and singing yet. It took everything for me (@stagefright ), @steelinhearts and @hamish_davidson_ to keep up! Recorded in a variety of places but pulled together here at @thehousestudiomc . Special thanks to @rockthiscountrypr for getting it out there. Available now on all streaming services! Go get it!!

NEW SINGLE ALERT!! 🎉🎶 Sydney traditional country outfit, Michael Carpenter and The Banks Brothers, emerge from their slumber in an earth-shattering way with their brand new single “Heart Aching Blues”, released through Big Radio Records/Rock This Country on June 5. Written by Zane Banks, “Heart Aching Blues” showcases, in a jaw dropping way, the instrumental flare of this ensemble. The song features Zane on lead, baritone and acoustic guitars, banjo and mandolin, brother Jy-Perry Banks on pedal steel, and Michael Carpenter on drums, bass and Hammond Organ. The ensemble is augmented by the always incredible Hamish Davidson on fiddle. The track was produced by Carpenter and Zane Banks, and mixed and mastered by Carpenter at The House Studio. “Heart Aching Blues” is the first single from what will be the band’s 5th album - or 7th if you include the live albums. It’s a bold return for them, with the track performed at a blistering pace (336 bpm, for those keeping score). It starts off with rapid fire guitars, machine gun train feel on the drums, with throbbing tom fills throughout, driving country bass and soaring pedal steel, before nonchalantly dropping into a pure bluegrass feel for verse 2, featuring mandolins, banjos and fiddles! Thundering drums herald the return of chorus 2 while the whole ensemble set the tone for the rest of the track. All this provides the perfect accompaniment for Zane’s greatest vocal achievement yet, building and culminating in an exhilarating scream to start verse 3. And it all wraps up in under 3 minutes. Boom! Welcome back fellas!! The ‘B Side’ of the single sees an instrumental version of the track, highlighting the instrumental prowess of all involved. The perfect track for rodeo backdrops and Sunday morning TV sports shows!
