In the 1990s, one legendary crew put Denmark on the global breaking map. OUT OF CONTROL. With breaking at their core, they brought locking, popping, and a rich range of street dance styles to the stage. Their performances and showcases, marked by exceptional quality and a distinct character, inspired dancers far beyond their borders. Their shows embodied skill, individuality, and the collective power of a crew creating together. A name we must remember when looking back at the breaking scene of the ’90s.

Our next Cypher Guest: STEEN @steenkoernerstudio🔥 A true pioneer of the Scandinavian Popping Scene, joining us in Frankfurt for SHIFT Culture Session 💪🏽 about him: Steen discovered Popping in Copenhagen in the early 80s, developing his movement through battles, street dancing and exchange. His journey took him across Europe and to the US, where he connected with and learned from dancers such as Damon Frost, Danny Francis, Mr. Wave and many others. As part of „Out of Control“, Steen became part of the growing European street dance movement, performing and exchanging across different countries and cultures. His path later expanded into street performance, choreography and theatre, exploring how Hip Hop and street dance can exist in theatrical contexts while staying connected to their roots. For Steen, finding your own style comes from learning from many people, travelling, asking questions and transforming what you learn into something of your own.
