Five Must-See Exhibitions You Can’t Miss in New York City:

Celia Paul’s first solo exhibition “Innervisions” features a cast of new paintings. Paul’s portraits and landscape are reflections of the self, time, memory, and the wake of life. Her work will be on view through June 13th (@gladstone.gallery )

After 30 years, David Hammons and Jannis Kounellis’ work reunites at White Cube (@whitecube ) in New York City. This exhibition consists of important works spanning from the 1950s onwards, continuing the conversations created in their first duo show in the 1990s. Their work will be on view through June 13th.

Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’s (@lynetteyiadomboakye) “Many A Moonlit Caveat” features new work that displays her unique approach to material— balancing contemporary style and traditional formal technique. Yiadom-Boyake’s work will be on view through July 31st at Jack Shainman Gallery (@jackshainman).

In “The Reflection of Bronze,” Giuseppe Penone uses three rooms to explore our connection to the natural world. The first room mirrors the skin, the second uses bonze tree trunks evoking the memory of his early performance work, while the final room reflects on the passage of time. This body of work will be on view at Gagosian (@gagosian) until July 2nd.

Stefania Batoeva’s (@Stefaniabatoeva) first solo exhibition, “Before days break” is on view at Company through June 13th. Batoeva’s paintings float between abstraction and portraiture through her gestural brush strokes and ability to imply the presence of a person, place, or object. (@companygallery)

Jeffrey Deitch and Company Gallery present It Smells Like Girl, a thematic group exhibition revisiting the charged and often misunderstood concept of female hysteria. Through painting, video, sculpture, installation, performance, and screenings, the show reframes hysteria not as pathology but as a cultural strategy--an expressive refusal against containment, repression, and expectation.

Featuring artists including Kelly Akashi, Isabelle Albuquerque, Nadia Lee Cohen, Liz Craft, Tala Madani, Frances Stark, Martine Syms, Cajsa von Zeipel, Ambera Wellmann, and many more, the exhibition embraces rupture and excess, proposing hysteria as a radical, sensorial language. Both homage and provocation, the show explores femininity's paradoxes and contradictions, where instability becomes presence and performance transforms into power.

Oh man @aaaahhhparisinternationale was my kind of fair! Some seriously ambitious galleries pushing the boundaries with their programmes while exhibiting some seriously exciting new talent!

Kicking it off was one of my favourite booths, that of @galeriederouillon. Exhibiting @emmanuelbeguinot, @bay.anastasia and @painter_keunmin, their booth was electric. A new find for me, @piktogram_org out of Warsaw, exhibited some seriously great and absorbing work from @iwo_pan and @jan__wolski !

Delighted to have stumbled into @generalexpenses booth, where these @angelaleyvago works had me transfixed! As did the @beso_uznadze work at @gallery_artbeat.

A new discovery for me was the brave works of @stefaniabatoeva on show at @companygallery from NYC. And to finish, a delightful @leonardo_devito_ at @ciaccialeviparismilan!

Can’t wait to get back to fair next year…
