Oh Vancouver! Our beloved 😍

Even when we were still thousands of kilometers away from you, my two-legged friends were already dreaming of you and your endless beaches. Your long nights of Volleyball with stunning sunsets and the best company.

Of course, we didn’t know our life would actually look like this. But we certainly dreamed of it this way!
Cari had studies to finish and after almost 10 month in a small car (no offense - I’m lighter around the hips than most adventure cars) it seemed like we all wanted a little break from exploring and needed some time to focus on long lost hobbies and a lot of regular company.

Time was flying and suddenly it was almost 3 month spent in beautiful Vancouver- most of it certainly at Kitsilano beach.

We did explore a little around the city, but our time was mostly about people!

And what amazing other two-legs we have met! I think even one or two tears were lost, when my Tom and Cari finally had to say good- bye to roll into their third 6month part of their adventure.

Thank you awesome Vancouver Crew for the best summer we could have ever dreamed of!♥️

On 7th September 2023, our one- year travel anniversary happened, and then it was time to start travelling again.

Since I (Freet) spent some time at the doctors for regular maintenance (I needed a new timing-belt), I am in the best shape to start running to the long east now - or will it be down south again? Or even North?

RIP and ciao forever to my grandmére, my granny, the matriarch of our family, my grandmother Claire, who passed away yesterday.

She lived a long life in two countries, married twice, had 8 children (2 step children), 20+ great/grandchildren, and many nephews/ nieces /cousins throughout the world who will all miss her greatly.

She loved roosters (no one really knows why), flirting (was shamelessly flirting until her death), game shows (sale of the century & million hot seat), her family (the debate of the favourite grandchild (me) lives on), and despite coming from a country colonised by the english (& French), she really loved the royal family (was 22 when Elizabeth became Queen, i was not allowed to speak throughout the queens funeral).

A stubborn woman who chose the mystical afterlife with my grandfather (and/or the queen), rather than resigning herself to aged care.

We'll all be a little lost without you, rest easy. 💙 🇲🇺 🐔
