In ancient Greece, when you were sick, you went to a temple. Specifically, an Asclepieion. These were dedicated healing sanctuaries built across the Mediterranean world from around the 6th century BCE, named for Asclepius, the god of medicine. The treatment was a multi-day stay in the temple grounds. Patients underwent ritual purification, bathing, dream incubation, and music. Music was not a soft addition. It was central. Patients slept in the temple while specific compositions, performed on the kithara and the lyre, were played to draw the body into deep rest. The Greeks understood that healing happened in sleep, and that music was the most reliable path into it. Egyptian temple builders went further still. Acoustic studies of Karnak and other temple complexes have shown that internal chambers were built with carefully tuned resonant properties that amplify specific tonal ranges of the human voice. Researchers are still uncovering exactly what was intended. But the geometry was not accidental. What this tells us is that for thousands of years, across many of the most sophisticated civilisations, sound and architecture and medicine were a single practice. The treatment room was sonic. We hold something of this lineage in our own space. The audio is original. The rooms are intentional. The goal is the same as it ever was. Bring the body into the state where it heals itself. Old practice. New rooms. Same medicine. Book your treatment including Stellar Sound Experience via link in bio. #soundhealing #stellarsound #saloncstellar #advancedtreatments #skinartistry

“This facial made my trip to London. I had the worst day when someone stole my phone, but they made my day so much better! I walked out feeling like I got the best treatment, and that all the ladies working at the spa were my friends. Coolest art, vibe, and experience.” — Rebecca The art of the sanctuary. Can you use probiotic skincare alongside actives? Yes. With a little intelligence about layering. Actives (retinoids, vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs) work on the cells. Probiotic skincare works on the ecosystem sitting on top of them. Different jobs. Not in opposition. How we layer: - Probiotic in the morning. Mist or serum, daily microbiome support. - Actives at night. The skin repairs in sleep. - Probiotic on top of an active. A calming layer. Less reactivity, faster recovery. - Starting a strong active. Pause for a week, let the microbiome reset with probiotic support alone, then reintroduce. Probiotic skincare does not undo your actives. Done well, it lets you tolerate them better, and use them longer. #saloncatellar #skin #probioticskincare #skincare

The Best Facial is our signature. No two are the same. Ten different modalities at the therapist’s fingertips, applied to your skin on the day you walk in, not the skin you booked with two weeks ago. Step 1. Double cleanse, skin analysis, massage. Steam, exfoliation, extractions, milia removal. Tailored to what your skin is doing right now. Step 2. The stardust. A combination of electrical modalities, often the microcurrent gloves, working contour, lift, brightness, puffiness, fine lines. The bit that shifts the face. Step 3. Alginate mask, then Dermalux MD LED. The medical-grade Ferrari of LEDs, usually found in hospitals, rarely in clinics. Finishing products tailored to your skin. You walk out lit. Vicky’s treatment of choice: The Best Facial. In her words, the perfect skin maintenance. It has seen her through adult acne, dryness and a diary that would flatten most of us. The Best Facial is our signature. No two are the same. Ten modalities at the therapist’s fingertips, applied to the skin you walk in with, not the skin you booked two weeks ago. Deep cleansing, extractions, targeted actives, microcurrent, LED, and a proper dose of calm. Vicky adds microneedling several times a year. As she puts it, evidence backed, and it really, really works. The only appointment where falling asleep mid conversation about peptides is actively encouraged. Book at saloncstellar.com. Your gut and your skin are talking to each other right now. The skin-gut axis. The bacteria in your gut produce small, calming molecules from the fibre you eat. Short-chain fatty acids. The most studied is butyrate. They travel through your bloodstream, out to every organ. Including your skin. A well fed garden inside you produces more of these molecules. Inflammation settles. Skin runs cooler. The mesh on the surface holds. A disturbed garden sends inflammation out instead. It shows up where your skin is most reactive. Jawline breakouts. Eczema. Rosacea. Dullness nothing topical seems to fix. The conversation runs the other way too. A healthy skin microbiome sends calming signals back through your immune system. The two ecosystems stabilise each other. The skin-gut axis is not new science. It is the science finally catching up with what your skin has been telling you. #SkinGutAxis #GutHealth #SkinMicrobiome Microbiome healthyskin

ESSE SKINCARE Most skincare is built against bacteria. Esse is built with them. They were the first brand in the world to build a professional range using live probiotics, applied directly to the skin. This is the science. Your skin is not a smooth surface. The actual microbial contact surface of your skin is around 100 square metres. Larger than the gut. A vast, hidden landscape, populated by trillions of bacteria that have co-evolved with you for your entire life. When this community is intact, your skin is calm. The bacteria produce antimicrobial peptides that out-compete pathogens. They keep your barrier strong and your pH stable. Most conventional skincare disrupts this. Aggressive cleansers, broad-spectrum preservatives, harsh actives, all of it tends to thin the community out. Skin becomes more reactive, more sensitive, more inflamed. Esse takes the opposite approach. The formulations use prebiotics (which feed the bacteria you want), probiotics (live cultures, applied directly to the skin), and postbiotics (the calming molecules bacteria produce). The aim is not to clean the skin into submission. It is to support the ecosystem that already lives there and let it do its work. Sebum, your skin’s own oil, turns out to be one of the most powerful prebiotics on earth. It feeds the bacteria your skin co-evolved with, and starves the ones that did not. Esse’s formulations were the first in the industry to work with this principle, not against it. We stock Esse because we tested it on clients with reactive, sensitive, post-treatment, and inflammation-prone skin, and it consistently calmed and rebuilt where conventional skincare struggled. Particularly after microneedling. The skin microbiome takes seven plus days to recover from advanced treatments, and live probiotics applied after appear to accelerate recovery, support collagen deposition, and lower the risk of infection. This is what microbiome-friendly skincare actually means. Not a marketing claim. A formulation philosophy backed by twenty plus years of research. If your skin runs reactive, this is where we would start. Shop ESSE via link in bio. #saloncstellar #skin #skinhealth #esse

You are not one organism. You are a collaboration. Living on you and in you are roughly 38 trillion tiny creatures. Bacteria, fungi, viruses. By cell count, you are slightly more microbe than human. These invisible communities have a name. The microbiome. Two of them matter most for your skin. The gut and the skin. Two different worlds, doing two different jobs, talking to each other constantly. Think of your gut microbiome as a quiet, busy garden, hidden deep inside you. Around 100 trillion microorganisms, weighing as much as your brain, tending the soil of your insides. They break down the food you cannot. They produce the calming molecules that quiet inflammation across your whole body. They teach your immune system the difference between friend and foe. When this garden is well kept, the rest of you flourishes. When it is neglected, you feel it. Often, you see it on your face. Then there is the skin microbiome. Think of it as a living mesh, woven across your skin’s surface. A community of bacteria standing shoulder to shoulder, keeping the harmful ones out, letting the friendly ones in, holding your barrier steady. When this mesh is intact, your skin is calm, hydrated, resilient. When it is broken, by harsh cleansers, too many actives, antibacterial everything, the wrong things get in and the right things wash away. Skin flares. Skin reacts. Skin forgets how to settle. And here is the part most people do not realise. These two worlds are in constant conversation. The garden inside sends signals through your bloodstream, your immune system, your inflammatory pathways, all the way out to the mesh on your skin. Which is why some skin issues never fully resolve from a bottle. The message driving them is coming from somewhere deeper. You tend the garden from the inside. Fibre, fermented foods, omega-3s, sleep, less stress. You tend the mesh from the outside. Gentle cleansing, microbiome-friendly skincare, restraint with actives, sun protection. Two ecosystems. Both yours. Both worth tending. #saloncstellar #skin #skinhealth
