Happy FF Resonance release day. The 7th FF game release on the PS5 and what a run @squareenix has been on. This will be the last new release game I will get until GTA6 comes out next month.

We are a week away from Final Fantasy Resonance release and I'm definitely looking forward to playing a modern 2D turn-based FF game. For those who may not know, Resonance will be the eight consecutive Final Fantasy game released since 2020. 8 FF games in 7 years with 2022 being the only year we gotten 2 releases with Stranger of Paradise and Crisis Core. We haven't had a run of this many FF games released since the late 90s to 2000s on the PS1 and PS2. I'm not counting the the Pixel Remastered Collection as I'm only counting individual new release games also the Pixel Remaster had 2 separate releases.

So @squareenix has definitely been feeding us a lot FF games after going a stretch without releasing much during the 2010s. The streak is going to continue into next year with FFVII Revelation being the 9th consecutive game. It will be very interesting to see what happens after that especially how long is it going to take them to make FF 17 and what's the next classic FF game are they going to remake.

Happy 31st anniversary to the North America release of the PlayStation. Happy 28th anniversary to the NA release of Parasite Eve and 27th anniversary NA release of Final Fantasy VIII. 2 Square Soft absolute bangers during their epic run on the PlayStation console and was hands down the best 3rd party publisher on the console and during the 5th generation.
