Yes 2024 was challenging, transitioning away from a role I’ve played for some years now.
Lots to let go of.
And lots to celebrate too…
Still delighted that the amazing @colbertcharlotte sponsored @lewesfcwomen backing the #SeeUsAsWeAre campaign; & that I got to meet hero @ccriadoperez 🦸🏽‍♀️ ; that Charlie wrote a play; @phia257 made twins! ; Millie made a documentary 🔥; @pittsthecoach made me a cuppa 😂; Becky got married; @brondesburyj turned 70; @katenash & @boomvision wrote the club an actual & brilliant song! And grateful for the many, MANY supportive people around ♥️
Lots to carry forward into 2025 now, keeping in mind & spirit the humans all over the place doing their best to make things a bit better.
Choosing hope for 2025 with an exciting project coming, looking to take more action, to learn, & am grateful for all you lovely people ♥️

My heartfelt gratitude goes to Rachel Pavlou for the invitation to Wembley, whose leadership and dedication to women's football continue to inspire me.

During the match, it was so AWESOME to meet Ali Speechly or with my welcoming Coach Ali! It is always fun meeting podcast special guests in person.

The joy of the weekend continued with a delightful brunch with Rachel, Monique Choudhuri MA, Chart MCIPD and Marios Christos Sfantos, Esq. where we discussed various aspects of women's football development.

Afterward, Marios and I traveled to our beloved Lewes. I had the pleasure of preparing a curry feast for Stef McLoughlin Neil McLoughlin Sam Adams Vivian Duval at the welcoming home of Karen Dobres and Charlie Dobres where the evening was filled with camaraderie and support for the women's game.

Like many of my posts, my goal is to educate rather than self-promote.

At Wembley, I encountered many inspiring individuals like Debbie Hewitt MBE, but I was particularly eager to gain insights from Hope Powell, a true leader in women's football development.

Towards the end of that incredible evening at Wembley, I took the opportunity to introduce myself to Hope whom I have admired for a long time when learning about the history of Women's Football, and posed this important question:

"How can I be a better Male Ally in Women’s Football?"

Her response: “Continue being an ally by making the right choices and decisions to grow the right way, and for the right reasons to support the women’s game.”

This advice has set the tone for my ongoing journey within the Women’s Football Industry. I'm incredibly thankful for Hope's important inspiring words and the encouragement they offer to me and other men who wish to support the growth of the women's game.

My night started with chips in Terre a Terre with @milliedobres where we witnessed Reclaim the Night marching by, led by the awesome @survivorsnetwork . Get IN. Watch this space cos we’re gonna start reclaiming the night in Lewes too - thank you for the inspiration Brighton🙏
Then on, with fab Lewes FC colleagues - come on @jacktowerss @bbqueen1e @i.blong @stefmic @charliedobres @rooksfirm & the rest to cheer on punky, rebellious, outspoken Nash owning the stage at Chalk.
Bumped into Boom Vision on the way out, wearing @lewesfcwomen ‘s eye shirts, and found out @boomvision co-wrote ‘Eyeconic’ with Nash - the powerful anthem that the team walk out to at every home game. Nearly cried.

Fab day at The Dripping Pan yesterday.
Following a win for @lewesfcwomen , the club hosted StriveAid. A charity match between Brazilian legends Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva, for mental health charity @calmzone

Great hanging out with @drevacarneiro (doctor for the day), and Kerry Davis - first Lioness of Afro-Caribbean descent - who managed Carlos’ team alongside assistant Toby Bull (Lewes Goalie), and watching how much all the kids loved the You Tubers and Influencers who made up the teams.

Once again, the Dripping Pan working wonders, far beyond size or expectation. Spectacular fun, plenty of magic 🤗😅♥️🖤

PS: Gilberto won, Carlos scored. AT THE DRIPPING PAN 🎉
PPS: Congratulations to everyone involved in organising - @timchasetc , @strivermadeforfans @stefmic - you created unbreakable memories and brought a spirit of pure joy to the Pan ♥️🖤

Smiles & football with a meaningful cause can bring people together…..learn more👇🏻

Last night it was a pleasure to support and attend the StriverAid at Lewes FC it was wonderful to reconnect with these amazing Football Industry Professionals and watch a few of them play!

Great work to @timchasetc and @stefmic and the Lewes FC Team and Striver Team for making this charity game a reality!

All donations were to raise funds for CALM, suicide prevention.

A great example how football can be a tool for good.
