Where do I even start… I still don’t think I’m fully processing that I just played my last softball game ever. Softball has been a part of my life since I was born. This season wasn’t easy. Missing most of it was really hard, but getting to come back for these last games reminded me why I love this sport so much. It’s everything… the night practices, open field days, the bus rides to and from games, our Shabooya chants, the cheer chants and drums, being in slumps, fighting our way out, and going through every win and loss together and the beach trips. I’m gonna miss it all. Softball gave me more than a sport. It gave me friendships that turned into sisters. Girls I laughed with, struggled with, and grew with. My girls, my babies, my sisters because of y’all, we got to have one more season. We didn’t even know if we’d have a team this year, but somehow every coach, practice, and game came together. I want to thank God for every opportunity, every lesson, and for carrying me through this season and my journey with softball. To my coaches at DHCA, thank you for everything. And to my family, thank you for always supporting me, cheering me on, driving me to travel ball, and being there through it all. And to my teammates… I love y’all so much. I’m gonna miss y’all forever. Decatur Heritage softball, thank you for everything… you’ll always have a place in my heart.
