Light and airy isn’t the only way to do audition photos.⁠ ⁠ They have to show your lines, your technique, and who you are.⁠ ⁠ If your energy is grounded, intense, or a little theatrical, a bright white background can actually work against you. So when it suits the dancer’s personality, we go moody. The lines stay clean, the feet stay crisp, and the technique is all still there. The light just tells the truth about her energy too. ⁠ ⁠ The goal was never one look for everyone. It’s an image that shows the panel who you really are before they read a word of your résumé.⁠ ⁠ Fall spots are going fast. Some photos from my time at Jacob's Pillow before the summer ends. I was so lucky to attend this program with so many talented and kind people, and to receive training from such an incredible group of faculty, including @annabellelopezochoa, @tiithelimets, and @rubenmartincintas. My time at Jacob's Pillow will stay in my heart as I continue into a new year of work. The knowledge I gained here was truly invaluable to my growth as a dancer. Some experiences stay with you because of the people you shared them with. For two weeks I was surrounded by artists who challenged, inspired, and welcomed one another with so much generosity. More tags @haydenbabin @thierryblannchard @jesseflahertyy I’m incredibly thankful for the dancers, conversations, friendships, and memories that made these two weeks meaningful beyond words. Heart so full from @jacobspillow 🤍🌲 I spent the most magical two weeks at this campus. My body was crumbling (lowk still is)…..but my soul is fulfilled in so many ways 👼🤸🏽‍♀️🫠 Still pinching myself that I got to learn and work with @annabellelopezochoa Thank you so much for your guidance, and generosity! Thank you @claudiaschreier ! It was an honor to be a part of your process ! Endless amount of thanks to school faculty @tiithelimets @rubenmartincintas and @gcasel !! Also shoutout to the peeps I got to choreograph on @levcornwall_ @avarose_dillon thank you for your positive energy and patience in working with all my crazy ! Thank you also @tegan_chou for stepping in so last minute. Grateful for you three in my choreographic process Before coming I was so nervous on how I was going to fit in and the imposter syndrome was strong AF. I’m so grateful to my cohort for making me feel so at home and creating the space to allow me to be my most authentic self! I LOVE YOU ALL !
