I was back in NYC to celebrate my graduation from Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business x NYU Stern School of Business program. What an exceptional experience!

Thank you to Goldman Sachs ( @goldmansachs) , NYU Stern School of Business ( @nyustern ) , my incredible business advisor, growth group, business allies, cohort sisters and every person who poured into me. This investment in Black women entrepreneurs will continue to extend far beyond this program— through the businesses we build, the communities we serve, and the lives we impact.

Building @MischoBeauty has been one of the greatest acts of faith in my life. Entrepreneurship isn’t linear. It’s showing up anyway. It’s believing in a vision before anyone else can see it. It’s been bootstrapping, betting on myself, and trusting God when the path doesn’t always make sense. This season challenged me to think bigger, lead differently, and trust more deeply than ever before.

To my family and friends—thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and unwavering belief in me. I couldn’t have done this without you.

And to the little girl who fell in love with science, found joy in all things beauty, and chose to major in Chemistry — never knowing those passions would one day become her purpose... it’s all possible.

My heart is full.

Thank You, God. 🤍

This past weekend was a whirlwind in the very best way.

I had the incredible blessing of returning to my beloved alma mater, Spelman College - @spelman_college , to celebrate my 30th college reunion—and my very first reunion experience. What a gift it was to walk those sacred grounds again, reconnect with my sisters, reflect on the journey, and celebrate the legacy that continues to shape us all.

Spelman helped form not only who I am, but who I continue to become. To be surrounded by so many brilliant, impactful, and purpose-driven women reminded me just how powerful this sisterhood truly is.

My heart is full of gratitude. I will never take for granted the blessing of having experienced Spelman—or the opportunity to return and celebrate 30 years later.

Thank you, God. Thank you, Spelman. 🩵

Class of ’96, today we celebrate a visionary… a trailblazer… a sister who turned purpose into power.🩵

Join us in honoring our classmate, Kitiya King (C’96) — beauty chemist, entrepreneur, angel investor, philanthropist, and founder of Mischo Beauty.

Since 2013, Kitiya has been redefining the beauty industry—beginning with a bold vision to transform a highly toxic space and building a clean luxury nail care brand now carried in major retailers nationwide.

Through her interdisciplinary expertise, she has shaped Mischo Beauty into a brand that redefines beauty—where safety and performance exist without compromise.

A two-time “Oprah’s Favorite Things” honoree and named one of Harper’s Bazaar’s “20 Best Nail Polish Brands of All Time,” her work has also been recognized by Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Essence.

Her impact extends far beyond products…

Kitiya is the founder of the Serving Beauty Podcast, amplifying the voices of trailblazing Black women in beauty, and the founder of STEM Beauty Lab, inspiring the next generation of Black girls to explore the powerful intersection of science and beauty.

3️⃣0️⃣ years ago, as Atlanta welcomed the world for the Olympics, we were walking the campus of Spelman—being shaped into women of purpose. Today, Kitiya embodies that purpose—building, leading, and creating impact across industries. 🩵✨

Kitiya, we celebrate your brilliance, your vision, and the legacy you are building. You are the embodiment of Spelman excellence.

Class of ’96 sisters — let’s show Kitiya some love in the comments! 🩵✨

So incredibly proud of my brilliant team of Spelman students, called Team ShadeSync (@shadesyncco).🩵💙✨

ShadeSync is building AI-powered beauty technology rooted in melanin-rich data to deliver accurate, inclusive virtual try-on experiences for people with medium to deep skin tones — because representation in data isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Last night was about so much more than a competition — it was about courage, growth, and first-year Spelman students boldly believing in themselves enough to take the stage and present what they built from the ground up.

I watched the late nights, the nerves, the breakthroughs — and then I watched them rise. They showed up with clarity, confidence, and heart. That kind of bravery cannot be measured by a score.

Congratulations to Team ShadeSync for making the finals of the “Spelpreneur presents… Jane E. Smith 10-Day Start-up Competition” and finishing 4th out of 16 teams. The growth they gained in this process is bigger than any ranking.

Thank you to everyone who completed surveys, supported on social, and cheered us on — our community carried us.

It was an honor to mentor alongside, the incredible @rcfalls!

As a proud Spelman alumna, serving my beloved alma mater and pouring into young women like these is not just something I do — it is something I carry in my heart. I will always answer the call to uplift and support Spelman in any way that I can.

Grateful to mentor. Honored to serve. The future is bright — and I saw it on that stage. 🩵💙✨
