The Oddinary Collection: Refashioning the meaning of ordinary.

This special collection is going to work towards breaking the stigmas we create in our mind on what should be considered “normal” or “ordinary”. It is designed to accept each person for who they are and how they are, despite their differences.

This collection showcases oddly designed pockets with special features, to embrace differences in life as Oddinary.

Here’s to looking behind limitations, because in the end we are all our own versions of ordinary.

For our first collection we will be collaborating with Step by Step Qatar, to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities and special needs.

In the next 6 months, 10% of our profits from this collection will be pledged to support a child’s education at Step by Step.

Step by Step Qatar is a special needs center, whose vision is to make inclusion a reality. They provide education and therapy to children and young adults in an environment that nurtures their growth, inspires achievement, and maximizes their potential. They do so, by recognizing the individuality and uniqueness of every child.

Many individuals with disabilities and/or special needs today live in dependence, exclusion and some even in poverty; because we as a society have not fully accepted them for their differences.

Each of us have our own unique strengths and weaknesses, which make us who we are as individuals. However, when it comes to individuals with special needs, or disabilities, many of our minds automatically categories them as “different” from the “norm” of the society.

This immediate categorization of people not only feeds to our stigmas, but it also makes room for misjudgment.

The first step to moving away from this unhealthy thought process is to start accepting the uniqueness within every individual. Because in the end, every person has their own ordinary.

The twelfth annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2019. To support World Autism Month we collaborated with Step By Step Centre for Special Needs, Qatar to promote health and wellness with a Zumba session with the students and teachers of the institute. A wonderful fun and healthy morning with Step by Step Centre for Special Needs.
