a year since hurricane helene. the destruction was incredible, but so was the response from our community. we are grateful to god, to our church @redemptionchurchga, and to friends like @elithe @lifesabigproject @steph_cathcart @ceraleanne @ashleydg91 @the.morri .

good neighbors and good friends are the best resources to have in a natural disaster, and they literally saved our lives.

we made it through 11 months of displacement. we are happy to finally be back in our home, though we know many are still waiting for repairs and we still feel the ache of the losses that will not be restored. #augustastrong

Well, we have an update….

We are excited to introduce our son, Richard Todd! After over 4 years in foster care, 3 foster homes, countless visits from the state, and mountains of paperwork, Richard now has a forever family. We cannot express how much we love this kid! I can’t believe God chose us to do this.

I’m so thankful God answers prayers. I’m so thankful He protects children. Even though it has been so hard, I’m glad we said yes to this messy but beautiful path of helping kids and their families.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, brought us meals, hugged us, sent us notes of encouragement and listened to us. We love you.
