Protective Parents, advocates, and allies this means we need to GET LOUDER.

If our governments won’t listen to the importance of making children’s safety the number one priority in all custody cases, then we have to make them listen and demand they take action.

We cannot and will not lose momentum. ✊🏼

From Kyras Law, Kayden’s Law, Piquis Law, Keira’s Law, and Graysons Law we will not stop fighting to protect children.

Champions, this is a post I never wanted to write.

Last week, Kyra's Law wasn't even on the calendar for a vote. And, now the New York Assembly session is over, and our children's voices have been silenced. Again.

Sometimes you do everything right, and you still lose.

And, our community did so much more than I could have imagined.

Our students rallied.
Our parents protested.
Our advocates raised awareness all across New York.

My heart is heavy, but my spirit remains unbroken. I encourage all of you to gleam the lessons and experience gained from this past year - there's no shortage of gold there.

We will rally once more. The future hasn't been written yet.

For now, I send my deepest gratitude for your time, generosity, emails, calls, unwavering courage, and support to show up and get loud for Kyra and for me. It has gotten me through some of my darkest hours.

23 New York children have been murdered by their own parent during a custody case or divorce in recent years. And, that awful number doesn’t take into account the staggering number of children court-ordered into homes where they are beaten, raped or emotionally destroyed by their own Dad or Mom.

Let me first share the wonderful news - Kyra's Law PASSED the Senate Judiciary Committee!!! We are incredibly thankful to all the Senators who voted with us and helped pave the way for children in New York to live in safe homes. And, a special thank you to @jamesskoufis for leading this effort!

And, sadly, now the catastrophic news. The New York Assembly said they will not even vote on it this year. Kyra's Law cannot pass unless BOTH the Senate and the Assembly pass the bill. To change this, we need YOUR HELP!
