Oh happy day to you. See, this story story starts wayyyyyy back when. Our grannies were best friends, our moms were best friends and we just follow suit. There are many in our orbit that met Dolly, loved & adored Dolly, are grieving Dolly but one among us had the trajectory of her life shaped by Dolly while working/performing at Dollywood, so I felt it fitting to honor this connection and dedicate this post to Dolly Parton through @ella.grace.francis’s post…

“Dolly Parton has given me so much of what I have in this beautiful life. It’s so weird because I never actually knew her, yet I attribute so much of my life to loving and being inspired by her. 🩷

My college essay topic was about how loving Dolly Parton has changed the trajectory of my life.

As an artist, her music has touched my soul since I was 6 years old. Her lyricism has carried me through some of the hardest times in my life. The emotion in her voice and art will never be matched. She showed us how to embrace beautiful, glamorous femininity without ever sacrificing our strength.

As a person, working in Dollywood under her leadership gave me so much clarity about what I want to do with my life. My love for performing FLOURISHED, and I now know that I want to perform professionally for a living… all because I loved Dolly Parton.

I have the most beautiful and strong friendships, and so much love in my life, because of that experience alone. 🫶🏻
She gave me my dreams that no one can take away. I will forever be grateful.

Thank you for everything 🩷

This beautiful creature entered my life last spring thanks to a close friend’s referral, meet Ella Grace.
One of the loveliest most talented young women (17 years old) I’ve ever been blessed to work with, plus her mother @stephaniemfrancis is equally beautiful & has become a good friend.
Ella Grace had many opportunities in front of her after my showcase & now has representation from top agents in NYC, LA & Chicago.
This performance is a world’s colliding moment. I can’t share all of the background of why this song is significant except my side of the story… this was the song I had on a playlist of songs my mom loved & I played for her in hospice. When we went to see the fall colors on the last day my mom was conscious this song actually came on as mom woke up & looked out at the colors. It also played as my mom departed this world… “Over The Rainbow” was my dad’s & my song & he used the lyrics to guide me through my mom’s final months before she joined him.
To say I sobbed hearing Ella Grace’s version would be a huge understatement… thank you Ella Grace, this means more to me than I can possibly express ❤️💔

On July 2nd these two met at the first day of Launch Showcase.
I affectionately called them our “Yin & Yang” (yinyang, the two complementary forces that make up all aspects & phenomena of life).
By the second day they were inseparable, and on our third and last day they had to say a tearful “till we meet again”.
They live thousands of miles apart but are now forever close as best friends united by their passion for theatre
This is Launch Showcase’s hidden super power. ❤️
