🦇 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐲 @stephanierabig My final read for september and my last review for horror indie tron month! I was only able to read a couple indies, but super happy I participated because I enjoyed both of the books I read. One thing I love about challenges like this is that they push me to expand my horizons. On paper, I probably wouldn’t think I’d be into western horror but just swipe and check out that first line ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ I think you’ll see why I was hooked from the first page. I loved Ada and Pearl as characters. Now those are some strong FMCs! The historical aspect felt well-researched and intriguing. It was enmeshed into the story in a way that felt unforced. I like that the story didn’t hold back or skirt around anything. I actually want more of these characters which is a good sign when finishing a novella. Also love that cover art by @kealanpatrickburke! On Stolen Land by @stephanierabig 🤯 absolutely loved this read! I was hooked and I devoured! I like to think I know a decent amount about the American West, but some of the details in this had me googling things and learning more! Book #8 for the Horror #indietron On Stolen Land by Stephanie Rabig ❤️ QUEER WESTERN HORROR. I say with caps, because FUCK the setting for this book is so good, and so is the execution! Love the western atmosphere, the creepy elements, the horror, the characters. Once again I've fallen in love with the main characters of a book and want MORE of them. With that said - the scariest part of this book isn't the horror, but the real historical atrocities. A great read!! 4 stars 🔥

I love when a book incorporates accurate historical events, and add a horror and supernatural element? Hell yeah! 💙 I loved the structure of this book and how each scene unfolded. We follow Ada and Pearl, two married bounty hunters, as they investigate a family massacre carried out by a neighbor. But what they uncover turns out to be disturbing. They realize they are hunting something or someone dark and disturbed. The book gives a western frontier vibe. 💙 The author definitely wasn't afraid to kill her darlings, and I appreciated that. The story was brutal, atmospheric, and compelling. History and horror! My favorite combo! #westernhorror #spookyreads #onstolenland #fivestarread

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear 😱 you made my day (or evening in this case) with this story, @stephanierabig I've been in an "almost reading slump" for the past two months, I'm surviving but I'm reading sooooo slowly. And tonight, I killed this awesome book in... 2h 🤣. While on shift at the office. Take a bit of Lone Ranger, a dash of a Lone Woman and a creepy side dish of The Watchers. Put two dashing, badass lesbians bounty hunters, one Irish and one black ex-slave in the middle of a western man hunt (or is it a man ?👀😉) surrounded by the usual racist and bigots for this era, and ... You have a 100 stars read, no joke, it's THAT good! I received a copy via #horrorindietron speed-read-dating event but I'm definitely buying this one for my collection. Thank you to the author for letting me arc read this Ada and Pearl are such bada**es I thought this was going to be a shapeshifter story and boy was I so wrong! I devoured this book it had action, gore and such an amazing storyline. This is my first read by this author and now I’m going to be adding all her books to my tbr list.
