Ode to My Fellow Creatives

Thank you…
For creating the way only you know how.

For the soulful echo that fills a room,
for pearly whites that catch the light,
for songs that don’t just play,
but somehow resonate their way into our bones.

Thank you for speaking in colors,
in melodies,
in dreams,
in hopes,
in stories,
in photographs,
in poems written into the voids of sketchbooks.

For chasing ideas that don’t yet exist.

For dreaming in dimensions
most people never think to envision.

For making things with intention,
for making things without permission,
for making things simply because you couldn’t bear not to.

And thank you for reminding me
that creation was never meant to be a solitary act.

We borrow from one another.
We inspire one another.
We become braver because of one another.

So here’s to the painters,
the musicians,
the filmmakers,
the muralists,
the poets,
the photographers,
the videographers.
the makers,
& the wanderers.
