training for performance will ALWAYS beat training to become the smallest version of yourself, and I will always stand by that ☺️

a HUGE coaching milestone for me this weekend.

I got the honour to prep my athletes for their races, and the opportunity to run with them & experience their day alongside them. 😭🤍

@karlyyym running a PB in her 5, 10, and 15km pace ALONGSIDE running an entire half marathon.

@oliviaaa.aaa.aa running her first 10km race after only 4 consistent running weeks.

@jorjaaaa.r running her first ever 5km, after coming back from a cruise and a health scare only weeks prior. heart conditions are no joke, and this was a massive milestone for her.

@jemae.freeman racing & pbing her 10km that she literally pb’d a few weeks ago.

nothing makes me prouder then seeing my team fuel their body for performance and push their limits beyond what they’d thought they could ever do.

my heart is EXPLODING 🤍

even the strongest seed cannot grow in poison soil 🤍

it’s no surprise to those close to me that over the last few months I’ve seen a big identity shift, and as difficult as it was in the moment it was something that I needed to experience.

growth isn’t something that just “happens”. you have to actively put yourself in a place where it is welcomed, and where it is possible. at times, you don’t realise that the environments you’re in are contributing to the capacity you have to make positive change - until you’re no longer in them.

in the first photo, I was pursuing a sport where I felt a lot of competition. I stopped loving the act of what I was doing and started hyper fixating on the fear I felt towards failing, not progressing, or not standing with the strongest in the room. which, for someone with only 2 years under their belt felt a little counter productive.
as much as I loved the sport and enjoyed every second of my competitive career, I look back at who I was then, those I surrounded myself with and the intense pressure I felt and I feel sad for the version of myself that couldn’t seem to get it right.

toward the back end of last year, I went ghost.
but not in a way of deleting social media, or giving up on training but in the sense of looking at the things, people and places taking my energy and completely cutting the anchors to me.

sometimes you have to experience some of the most difficult moments of your life, the worst betrayals and the hardest seasons to be able to grow and thrive in a different chapter.

the girl on the left had balance, but she also had high stress, poisoned conversations and unrealistic expectations.

the girl on the right, she is the version of me I’ve needed 🤍

aging is inevitable, frailty is not.

it’s no longer a case of “women should strength train”
we NEED to.
