It is a special privilege to photograph dancers at work—to be close enough to witness the quiet transformation that unfolds long before the curtain rises. Through the lens, we see growth as it occurs: a movement refined, an intention deepened, an artist becoming more fully themselves. We witness the repetition, the discipline, the dedication, and determination. We see confidence gather in the body, in the choices, in the artistry, until what began in the studio is ready to meet the stage. To photograph that process is more than capturing a moment; it is the honor of preserving an artist’s journey. #danceratwork #storiesmatter #herstorymatters #CurtainConnect #ChromaDiverse #DanceTheatreofHarlem Photo credit: Judy Tyrus Artist: Stephanie Rae Williams rehearsing “Far but Close” by John Alleyne

Grim Reaper - Mary Esther Carter - music video out now, link in bio! It is always so much fun to work with Mary. As a dancer, as a musician, and as an artist I love crafting the dark and textural worlds she envisions. It was a pleasure to direct and edit this piece and work with my fellow collaborators. An enormous thanks to @arnaldovargas for his intuitive cinematography and amazing home studio. To the core of dancers Mary brought on board who jumped into an expressive and unique world with ease. And to all of the wonderful musicians and producers who made this song a reality! Link to this music video in my bio, please check it out!!!
